A long string of tragic loves haunts Viscount Benedick Francis Alistair Rohan. Cool and cynical, he's weary of life's fickle games and wants a prim and proper wife he can ignore while indulging his sensual appetites. Lady Melisande Carstairs is nothing less than a tornado storming into Benedick's measured life. Possessed of boundless energy and the soul of a reformer, Melisande always conquers, whether it's saving the souls of soiled doves or seducing the man she's inconveniently fallen for.

What made the experience of listening to Shameless the most enjoyable?

I enjoy the Rohan family stories. The Rohan's (both husbands/wives/heroine's) are fabulously fun personalities. I did find myself laughing out loud in a few places.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Shameless?

The tiny gun - too funny.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She's always pleasant to listen to.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    A devilish affair.

    Any additional comments?

Not one of the best in the series but definitely a nice escape and fun listen. Looking forward to the next one. Keep them coming Anne.

The narrator ruins this. She starts in on the southern accents slurring the words and sentencing and speaking them so fast that I often had to rewind and replay to figure out what she was saying. That was awful. Very distracting.

Macbeth: A Novel brings the intricacy and grit of the historical thriller to Shakespeare’s tale of political intrigue, treachery, and murder. In this full-length novel written exclusively for audio, authors A. J. Hartley and David Hewson rethink literature’s most infamous married couple, grounding them in a medieval Scotland whose military and political upheavals are as stark and dramatic as the landscape in which they are played.

I had a hard time getting through the story because the narration is just boring, flat, no real emotion. It's a good book to listen to if you want to go to sleep. It just drones on and on. I didn't finish it.

Arranged marriages seldom happen in modern America, so Daisy Devreaux hates her father's ultimatum: marry the humorless man he has picked for her, or go to jail. It's not much of a deal for Alex Markov, the prospective groom, either. He's got no time to indulge an uptown girl. So Alex puts Daisy to work in his traveling circus, expecting the harsh realities will break her. Instead, he finds she's got heart enough for both of them.

This book caused me to waste so much time this weekend because I couldn't stop listening to it and had a hard time focusing on anything while I was listening. It was so funny I found myself laughing at loud, often. It was great because it was not predictable and a uniquely different story. Narrator was great too.

Linda Lael Miller’s Montana Creeds series draws to a close in this final riveting tale. The youngest of the three Creed brothers, Tyler is a big-time rodeo star when he returns to his humble hometown of Stillwater Springs. It’s not long before he’s fighting with his brothers again, and it seems like the past is due to repeat itself. But that may not be so bad, because Tyler’s first love Lily is back as well, and their feelings for each other have never been stronger.

Always good to catch a Linda Lael Miller story. The Creed family stories leave you looking forward to another. I think that she's run out of Creed men to write about and that's sort of sad.

Would you listen to Creed's Honour again? Why?

Yes, it is a sweet story and I felt like I knew the family before it was over. I wanted more.

What about Jack Garrett’s performance did you like?

    Yes. Very much.

    Any additional comments?

This is a great series. It was a feel good story that kept me engaged. Not sappy and too romantic, just the right amount of all of the ingredients to make for a good listen/read.

If you could sum up Black Ice in three words, what would they be?

    Curiosity killed the?

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sebastion of course. He just couldn't help himself to do the right thing. He so wanted to remain a bad guy but just really wasn't that person.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed at times that should probably have not been funny.

    Any additional comments?

The run from the bad guys part went on a little longer than I had patience for but I never was one for the chase scenes or on the run scenes in movies. Not unless there is more substance between the characters who are on the run with more moments of interest within them.
