"Funny Book"
I know this is a romance. But this story has so many funny moments, I seem to be laughing my head silly that I think people thought I was losing my head while I was listening to this book. It's a bit drawn out but it's a good listen/read.
"Good Listen"
It is quite dark - and the narrators really did a good job of getting that across. A lot of twists. But, in the end, as dark as the book may seem, it does give a message of hope and forgiveness. It is a very good book indeed.
"Dark but funny"
Very interesting plot - and the author presented it very well. It was very funny, too. I had to look around to make sure that nobody saw me laughing out loud. Truly entertaining. And Mr. Fisher Stevens was excellent in his narration.
"Can't Wait for #3"
I couldn't stop listening. And the narrator is excellent!
"Love The Book"
The story is very poignant - but feels very real. I have loved the book even before the film came out - which was unusually true to the book. That was quite surprising. I've always been interested in Mr. McEwan's books as they are a very good study of human behavior in the direst of situations.
"Eerily Real"
The story was so close to being real that it was just so unnerving to listen to the book. It's not bad at all! It is actually thought provoking. And Mr. Scott has always been a great narrator and the way he brought this audiobook to life even made listening to it so very eerie.
"Very Well Written"
I couldn't stop listening to this book - I had to finish it. It's not edge of your seat kind of thriller - it's more of a suspenseful thinking kind of thriller - if that makes sense at all. It has enough twists to make your head spin and it was kind of confusing at the start since there were so many characters involved, but it was very well written and the characters' lives and the way they cross paths is just very good story telling. The narrator was very good, too.
"Good Story"
The story itself is good. One has to hash out the theology behind it but this book doesn't claim to be a theological study - just a story. I understand that there are some arguments as to the dogmas, or rather the non-dogmas, that the book emphasizes but as a story of pain and redemption, this book is a good read - or listen, as the case may be.
"Interesting Story"
I'm not a romance novel person - but, Ms. Quinn has got me downloading her books. Yes, there's the boy meets girl stuff but the circumstances the characters find themselves in - it's just hilarious! I'm glad to find an author that just doesn't delve in such romantic stuff - she just has a way of telling a story that makes it so funny, too. Pecked to death by pigeons - that's a classic. Oh, and the narration is excellent, too!
"Neil Gaman's Stories are ALWAYS Good!"
Although this is an Audible Kids download, I would think it won't be appropriate for children around 10 and below. Mostly preteens and up, maybe. That said, the story was really good. Mr. Gaman's imagination knows no bounds. And, the narration, as always, is excellent.
