The 3nd book in the series was good but not as great as the first 2, so I held off on this, the 4th. I should not have, it rocked! More Oberon!! Love that dog, I use the voice now for my own dog, I may even name my next one after him! Can't wait for the next in the series, coming November 2012.

Summary of story to me: its hugely FUN. The light friendly telling of the story is GREAT, It makes Atticus feels like a friend of yours, I want to find out what happens next throughout, and I kinda wish Druid-as-a-career could be an option in RL! I would sign up in a minute, lol.

I only realized this was the American Seal that was murdered on Feb. 2012, AFTER I had bought and listened to about 2 hours of it. It changed the listening experience in a major way, making it feel much more personal and...surreal I would say. It is an engrossing book, ultra patriotic, very funny, often sad, never boring, and educational, all rolled into one. I found myself wishing I had joined the military as a kid, and had such adventures in my life as well. When I realized who he was and what had happened at that ranch, it really made me think about my own mortality, you just never know how long you have on this earth. After living through so much in war, to be shot while trying to help others is just a huge tragedy.

The narration was dead on, I don't know what Chris Kyle really sounded like, but I don't think you could have found a better voice. The narrator even choked up at places in the book, and I think it was genuine emotion, because I choked up a bit as well. One of the best books I've ever listened to.

And I have to say it here, Thanks to Chris and all the others in the military that have given so much for our country!

I absolutely loved this book, not much more to say. The stories about great historic figures and the explanations of the takeaway and life lesson provided by the stories are tight and super interesting. In the end, it provides great advice and insight on how to live a fruitful life. Narrator was top notch as well.

I took a chance on this, the preview sounded good so I went for it. I usually don't buy something with ZERO reviews, but I was looking for something new. I was NOT let down at all. Engrossing story line, never boring, and a powerful delivery by Michael Kramer, who played evil characters particularly well. It even had some thought provoking ideas about good, evil, willpower, fear, and the soul, if you pay attention. I loved it, and am looking forward to the next one. I highly recommend this book.

I love John Corey the hero, and Scott Brick the narrator is the best. I sincerely hope DeMille continues writing for the series, keep John alive!

I took a chance buying this since it is a new book with few reviews. It is a refreshing break from the "passion" based literature that is popular now. It teaches what has become uncommon sense these days - you get out of life what you put into it. Its backed by some research and good anecdotes, and gives needed perspective if you start thinking that you have to "find your calling". Few people find it without investing time, effort, an open mind, and patience, first. Saying that, I still find lots of motivating and helpful ideas in the passion based approach, so its not all black and white to me, but still this book adds a refreshing perspective.

I may be simple minded here, but, the audible of this was too much for me. I can tell the story would probably rock with detail and twists/turns if I hung in there. But, too many characters with little happening, I lost interest. I know others liked it, maybe my listening needs are different, my listening time is limited. I need a story to pick up and GO. This doesn't GO for a long time, and if you wait too long between listens, you forget and it doesn't make much sense. And it was easy to wait between listens since it never captivated me. Honest moment: I didn't complete the listen, I did get a few hours in, I believe. To me though, if it doesn't hold my interest, its not a good listen.

For someone who can concentrate fully and can dedicate long swaths of time, I think it would be very good.

Maybe it was just me, but this was a hard story to get into in audible form. Too much flipping around from one line to another, felt disjointed, the build up stories weren't very interesting, and so I could not complete listening to it. I might not have stuck it out long enough, but, my listening time is too valuable to hold out too long with boring buildup. I gave it a good effort too - 9 hours out of 20...

I took away some great advice. I've been struggling with stress at work, and this gives some tips that were invaluable - 2 mainly. One - learn to fall in "like" with your day job, and Two - You cannot be one guy at work, and totally different when not at work. Well Three actually - Your day job gives you the freedom to pursue a dream job. Excellent stories, very sincerely delivered with candid sharing of his life. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was, have listened twice now...highly recommended for dream job pursuers.

Only comment: I can't wait for the next one - printed copy comes in July, wondering if audible version will arrive in July too? I'm a techy, so this stuff rocks. Its a great ride!!! Here and there you have to suspend judgement, but to me that's no problem. Like earlier in the series, (warning - minor spoiler alert if you haven't read any of the books!!) Siebeck spends over a year more on death row, treated horribly as well, then later, seems no worse for wear, he just picks up where he left off? On the other hand, the consistent details like well delivered news flash reports with internet hit counts, and the parts about the economics and security institution round tables give a wonderful feeling of "this is really happening". I loved it!!
