I loved the first book, THE HOUSE ON TRADD STREET, this one got lost. Even some of the characters changed, like the main charachters dad, he was so strong and forceful in the first book and in this one...he was weak and bossed around a bit. I loved the idea of the book but something was missing, I didnt like any of the characters, could not identify with them at all! I waited so long for this sequel that I could just cry at how it turned out.
I loved it, it was beautifully written with full characters that you have a chance to love and hate! The story was haunting and held my interest to the end. There are 4 in this series, this is the second one. Very good.
I loved a book called, THE HELP, this one promised to at least be similar. I was so confused, I could not keep up with the characters, could not keep up with the plot line. I wanted to, I just kept going to sleep. I am very upset as I gave it a good month of starting, restarting and really trying to read it. Maybe its just me??
of course it is good, it's Stephen King....however, as with most of his stuff it is good up to the end where he seems to run out of ideas, goes way out on a limb and the ending was just rushed and stupid....so, except for the ending it was very good.
I loved the narrator of this book, the story was easy to follow, the characters were easy to love and hate. I enjoyed every minute of this book.
All of the characters were awesome! Written great, read great! Very very good book. I am a bit hard to please but this book had me all the way through. The narrator was exceptional as she went from character to character, young and old with ease. The story had a flow like no other that I have read in a long time.
I didnt hate listening to it but there was nothing really to remember about it when I was done. If you like books about nothing, you will love this one.
I did enjoy the story line but I swear I read the other reviews and they most talked about the humor....I never heard any humor and never laughed outloud?! Also, who would you have a narrator that has a lisp? I disliked the narrator a ton and not only did she have a speech problem she sounds old and the character is young. I will not be listening to any other books read by this narrator.
I loved the story, the characters, the whole thing and I loved that the writer was not in a hurry to get to the end. This is the first book in a long time that held my attention, made me laugh, sad and at times wanna cry with the story! I also liked the narrator. I am hard on narrators but I really did like this one.
The book had a great plot line with wonderful twists to it. I recommend this book if you can tolerate the reader. Most of the time she reads the book with the cadence of William Shatner, start, stop...with little appropriate emotion where it should be. I wish she had made a difference in the character voices too.
