"hold tight"
loved it! not as sarcastic as with his myron books....but i also needed a break from him. they were starting to be the same. as a parent...i could totally relate to this book. got a bit confusing as to what blame was to be placed on the little sister. kept me going...listening at work whenever i got a break.
"really good listen"
I have to say, this story was made sooo much better by listening, rather than reading. I think it is a great story either way, but after listening to the varied voices in the narration, I can't imagine it being as impressive reading it. I have truly become an "audio book" person...and this book is the perfect example of how listening gives you a so much better perspective...they always say the book is better than the movie...this audio book gives you the best of both worlds. The narrators make you feel as if you are watching them.
A great story.....made even better by narration. Anyway you take in this book, you will love it. All the women are loveable...well, most.
This is a story I would save for my daughter to read when she's older.....a future classic...couldn't put it down..one of the best i"ve listened to.....audio is the way to go with it.
"awesome"
I loved this book! Narration is excellent. absolutely could not wait to get back to it and hear what happened to the characters next. This author gets you to know and care about each and every person in the story.
"ok"
Ok ..so this was a bit like a sisterhood of the traveling pants...in Saudi . It was enjoyable but didn't quite cut it. i love books about the "eastern" cultures...I can't put my finger on it ..but this didn't quite cut it.
"keeps you listening."
I bought this on a whim. I was very impressed with the narrator...is she really a teenager? Also the fact that this was written by a man....he is so intuned to a teenage girl's angst..I find this unbelievable. Any way the book hooked me from the beginning...you just don't want to stop the car! It's sweet ,and sad. I don't know what I'd say about reading it...I trully think the narrator made this a great "listen". Get it. It's short and sweet and you will LOVE it.
"keep you reading or listening all night"
this was a great book!! Disturbing...but anybody who loves thrillers would love it. It was one of the best I've listened to, of late as far as keeping you with the earpiece in your ear...all day.
Lisa Gardner is a new author to me...but I'm now a fan. "Hide" was a great read..and this book is the first I've listened to.
The different characters make it easy to follow and the Narration is perfect for this story!
listen to it....!
"love the author...can't take the narrator"
I LOVE this author!! however, I'm finding it tough to get through this book on audio..thinking of buying the paperback....her voice is so monotonous....doesn't change a bit between characters, or situations. I find myself rewinding because I'm spacing out. It's never happened with any other book.
Just finished "say goodbye"...it was awesome! kept me listening into the night.
I think this story will be just as good but I now know a narrator can make all the difference.
"nineteen minutes"
This is a must read for any parent..whether your children are little or old. When my kids were born, I always remembered a kid that was picked on. when you have kids...it's not always something you can see. I always wondered what it would be like to have a child that was picked on like so many that I remember from high school.
How do you know whether they'll be "cool" or dorks. we like them sensitive when they're young, and personally I'd like to keep them that way. I remember too many kids who didn't deserve their abuse.
As a parent you want them to be middle road..but even with middle road, pressures are there.
my children are young..and I still fear their quest for popularity over being a "good " person.Just reinforce this in your kids and READ this book.
