This story is very interesting and well written; if I were reading the book it would get a higher rating. But this is the most awful narration I've heard in a long time. He sounds constantly bored by the material and annoyed at having to do this. It really detracts from the book. Too bad - this is an interesting story!
I love the Mallory series, but really miss Alyssa Bresnahan. I enjoy Barbara Rosenblat very much in other books, but this is read in a cutesy/"acting the story way" that is not suitable to the more noir aspects of these books. I'm nearly an hour in, and not sure I can keep listening. I may just go buy the book in paper and read it that way; this is very disappointing.
The stories in this series are always interesting, and I really recommend them.
I am done with books by Hamilton; I'm disgusted by the lack of story and the main character's idiocy
No plot, main character is a whiny nutcase; these used to be good books but are just awful now
She was fine, but the sound effects added in (echo effect, gunshots) were awful and really destroyed the book environment
I took a chance and bought this latest one, even though I've been increasingly disappointed by the last few books. I wish I had saved my credit for something I could stand to listen to for more than three hours without deleting the book.
