Defiant Highland beauty Fiona Sinclair is shocked by her brothers’ treachery. To seal a fragile truce, they have traded her hand in marriage to their sworn enemy, a man she has never met, a man she was raised to despise. With no choice but to wed, Fiona makes her own private vow: Though she may sacrifice her freedom, she will never surrender her heart. Commanded into marriage by the king, Myles Campbell is no more willing than his reluctant bride. Still, she is a rare beauty, passionate enough to warm even the coldest marriage bed.

Another great story from Elizabeth Hoyt. The narrator was not great...in fact she was pretty awful. I prefer Moira Quirk who narrated the other audio books from this author. Highly recommended if you like Elizabeth Hoyt stories (I am a big fan) but only if you can put up with the narrator.
I sincerely hope that Audible will be adding more of Elizabeth Hoyts books to the audible collection as unfortunately I have now listened to them all.

They call him the Devil.... He is the most notorious laird of Scotland: fierce, cold, deadly...and maybe even worse. Yet Evelinde has just agreed to wed him. Anything, she thinks, is better than her cruel stepmother. Though Evelinde should be wary of the rumors, she can't help but be drawn to this warrior...for the Devil of the Highlands inspires a heat within her that is unlike anything she has ever known.

Great story. The narrator needs to put much more expression into her work but I put up with that in order to hear the story which was wonderful.

Jamie Fraser knows from his time-traveling wife Claire that, no matter how unlikely it seems, America will win the Revolutionary War. But that truth offers little solace, since Jamie realizes he might find himself pointing a weapon directly at his own son - a young officer in the British army. And Jamie isn't the only one with a tormented soul - for Claire may know who wins the conflict, but she certainly doesn't know whether or not her beloved Jamie survives.

I have to admit to not to reading about the current book on the internet before I listened to it, as I didn't want to spoil the story by finding out something important in advance. So when it ended in a cliffhanger I was absolutely devastated as I had thought it to be the last book......ever......then so relieved to find out that there is at least one more book (if not more) to come. Thanks Diana and Davina. Also my very Scottish heritage is now something I am more familiar with thanks to your wonderful writing and narrating. I am now anxiously waiting on my anniversary hard cover book of Outlander to arrive so I can start reading the novels.

With chaos brewing, the governor calls upon Jamie Fraser to unite the backcountry and safeguard the colony for King and Crown. But from his wife, Jamie knows that three years hence the shot heard round the world will be fired, and the result will be independence, with those loyal to the King either dead or in exile. And there is also the matter of a tiny clipping from The Wilmington Gazette, dated 1776, which reports Jamie's death, along with his kin.

I am so disgusted with this purchase. I am a huge fan of this series and happily purchased A Breath of Snow and Ashes not realising this is an abridged version with a different narrator......WHY??? I have so enjoyed the series up till now. I am 10 minutes into this story and I have deleted it. I will search for an unabridged version with the original narrator to buy. This narrator is so monotone and she sounds like a man. Claire is such a vivacious and witty character, and this woman sounds like she is at a funeral most of the time. It is terribly hard to follow whether its Jamie, Roger, Claire or Bree talking as the voices all sound alike. Get it together audible or lose business!!! If I had read the reviews first I would never have purchased it.

I came to realise by the end of the third book, that this trilogy is all about the love story. The kinky sex is interesting but in the end its all about a desperate, all consuming love that many many people never experience. The kind of love where despite the hardships, a couple really do adore each other and ..........yes....... it does happen. Its also about the female need to save a handsome and esentially good but very damaged man from himself, and see that love does win over in the end. Yes the books are repetivive but to be honest who cares. It was all about heart and I loved them:) Becca Battoe has done a nice job of the reading.

I loved this book. I couldnt put it down and now I have listened to them all. I am far from a teenager and I am a corporate manager. Quite a few of my friends are also very taken with the story. To the haters...lighten up. I guess you need to find some way to vent your sad frustrations by giving this best seller such scathing reviews. Many millions of women all over the world...not just teenagers are in love with the idea that is Christian Grey. We cannot all be illiterate, pubescent idiots!! In fact I dont think this book is suitable for teenagers at all!! We all have different tastes. Please recognize this. Fantastic book.
