For fans of Tina Fey and David Sedaris - Internet star Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, makes her literary debut. Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives - the ones we'd like to pretend never happened - are in fact the ones that define us. In Let's Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor.

    D. S. Smith says: "How the Bloggess almost made me crash my car!"

Would you try another book from Jenny Lawson and/or Jenny Lawson?

This book was horrible. It started off bad and continued to get worse.
I believe you need to hang in there. I was hoping that I would find something redeeming. I did it finally ended.

The author thinks her stream of conscientious thinking is funny. It is not, she is not, nor is the subject matter she attempts to discuss funny.

Oddly, someone compared her to David Sedaris. Who paid for that comparison? You couldn't write the forward to a David Sedaris book.

    Save your time.
    Save your money.
    Save your life.
Run don't skip from this book.
I don't think it is possible for me to have put into words just how bad this experience was for me.

What could Jenny Lawson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    Never write another book again.

How could the performance have been better?

    Never speak into a mic.

What character would you cut from Let's Pretend This Never Happened (A Mostly True Memoir)?

    The whole book.

Growing up with telepathic abilities, Sookie Stackhouse realized early on there were things she'd rather not know. And now that she's an adult, she also realizes that some things that she knows about, she'd rather not see—like Eric Northman feeding off another woman. A younger one. There's a thing or two she'd like to say about that, but she has to keep quiet—Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town.

What did you love best about Deadlocked?

I love the voice of Johanna Parker. The audio had a multiple story line all going on at the same time. Then as always the stories are concluded by the end of the book.

In the mid-70s, Steve Martin exploded onto the comedy scene. By 1978 he was the biggest concert draw in the history of stand-up. In 1981 he quit forever. Born Standing Up is, in his own words, the story of "why I did stand-up and why I walked away".

    Andrew says: "Fantastic"
"Steve committed the worst crime ..."

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The book wasn't funny or even interesting

Would you ever listen to anything by Steve Martin again?

    Never

How could the performance have been better?

It was a dry read. But the writing was so poor not sure that anything could have made it funny.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Born Standing Up?

The whole book should have been burned before press time thus stopping a audio book.

    Any additional comments?

Wow I want my life and my money back.
