Wayne Dyer is truly an earth spirit. I have a lot of his CDs. His audios/books are an inspiration for all of us who sometimes get lost along the way, or we are struggling with the illusion that "this is all there is". Mr Dyer literally simplifies our personal worlds with his free-flowing words. He has been my mentor for almost 3 years, & his audios/CDs have totally inspired me on levels that even surprise me. I have all of his audios on my iPod so I can simply turn it on "whenever" I need a "fix" for any issue. Truly an amazing soul.

History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

Would you listen to The Winter Sea again? Why?

Yes, I love time travel stories and this had a bit of a twist with time in that it gave the impression of the author living a different time period involving the very story she was creating. Delightful and clever!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Winter Sea?

When the author began recognizing that this might be her own story as serendipity and synchronization began working in her favor.

Have you listened to any of Rosalyn Landor’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this is the first time with this author, but I guarantee it will not be the last.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole story moved me. Usually with audio books I have to restart them over and over because I am at work when I listen to them, and I usually get lost at the beginning. But from the time I started listening to this, I never restarted it once. It kept me anticipating the next words throughout and I was sorry it ended.

    Any additional comments?

The narrator was very good as well keeping up with the accents and the reading as if she was telling the story herself. Never once did I feel her reading the book. The entire experience was awesome. I love when that happens for me in listening to books.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

Being a part of the entire lifetime of Jamie and Claire was incredible. You never have to wonder about any of the characters; they become a part of your own life. I love the audio version and looked forward everyday to hearing for hours the details of these characters while I was at work. It took me about 2 years to get through the series and very much worth the listening. I love the way they were written and am thinking of getting involved in another series. Just loved the stories.

In pre-war Prague, the dreams of two young lovers are shattered when they are separated by the Nazi invasion. Then, decades later, thousands of miles away in New York, there's an inescapable glance of recognition between two strangers. Providence is giving Lenka and Josef one more chance. From the glamorous ease of life in Prague before the Occupation, to the horrors of Nazi Europe, The Lost Wife explores the power of first love, the resilience of the human spirit, and the strength of memory.

If you could sum up The Lost Wife in three words, what would they be?

    Heartfelt, inspiring, magical

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the idea that "what is meant to be will be" no matter what. The story was awesome and I would not have minded if it had ended with a little more detail on this eternally loving couple had rekindled their love. Finding true love in your youth and innocence, and then being separated by unpredictable horrendous historical events. The Holocaust was a terrible injustice to a mass population and this is one of the most detailed, up close and personal accounts that I have ever listened to. I love how they met and was so disheartened with them having to live separate lives, and then became grateful and so happy when they found each other again. It was such a positive, moving story. Family loyalty and choices separated these soul mates for years, but it was the infinite connection of love between the main characters that reunited them at a perfect time, at a wedding of another beginning love story. I absolutely loved this story!!

What about George Guidall and Suzanne Toren ’s performance did you like?

I loved their voices; perfect for the characters they read for. They read with so much feeling and compassion; I was totally immersed in the story. I cried with each character reading in sad moments, and even the warm moments.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Forever love exists!!! Inspirational, sensational, even spiritual love story.

    Any additional comments?

This story reminded me of stories in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. Wonderful audiobook:)

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I do not know that it could have. Right from the very beginning, it was like listening to a bad movie with bad actors. I think the author was trying to give various ways of recall (I guess that had to be the intention), but the listen was just too "busy". It was confusing and some of the characters' voices were nerve pinching.

Has Increase Memory Power Performance System (With Mind Music for Peak Performance) turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, not from the genre, but maybe from this author or narrator.

Would you be willing to try another one of the narrator’s performances?

    I might.

What character would you cut from Increase Memory Power Performance System (With Mind Music for Peak Performance)?

All of them, including the narrator (author). Her voice is just not compatible with relaxing or easy listening; her reflections and tone was awful to listen to. I didn't even finish listening to the book.

    Any additional comments?

It is very rare for me to be disgruntled with any of the audios I have bought here. I have tons and even the free ones you give out. And I think this is actually the 2nd book I have not enjoyed; the first one was by Laurel Hamilton when I first joined up with Audible. It wasn't the author or narrator there, it was that the story itself was not a good fit for me...not interested in goblins and monsters. 2 books out of dozens of what I have in my library....I am very grateful for your business because I get to enjoy my love of books while I am on the job or doing other things. Your service is awesome...Thank you:)

Twice Claire has used an ancient stone circle to travel back to the 18th century. The first time she found love with a Scottish warrior but had to return to the 1940s to save their unborn child. The second time, 20 years later, she reunited with her lost love but had to leave behind the daughter that he would never see. Now Brianna, from her 1960s vantage point, has found a disturbing obituary and will risk everything in an attempt to change history.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have recommended this entire series to my parents and my friends. This was the first of the series that I read, not knowing there were 6 other books. It was awesome, and I couldn't put it down.

What other book might you compare Drums of Autumn to and why?

These series remind me of The Cave and the Clansman (I think) by the author's last name of Auel. It's been a long time since I read that series. The series remind me of each other because of the history; the series continue in interesting and active history.

    Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scenes are always when Jamie and Claire find each other after their own individual adventures.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

When I read the book out of sequence, I thought was this all there was and who would do that? Then I listened to the first four books last year when I was working and now am about to listen to the last two. I will be sad when I am done, because these are wonderful books. I love time traveling stories.

To survive in a game with no rules at all, John Corey must invent a strategy that includes no luck at all. He and the Anti-Terrorist Task Force must stop "The Lion," an alleged Libyan terrorist with the instincts of a wild animal, the bloodlust of a carnivore, and the boldness and speed of a cat of prey. And listen to Mayday, by DeMille and Thomas Block, the most terrifyingly realistic air disaster thriller of all time.

This was a wonderful story, from the moment the reading started until the very end. Scott Brick did excellent animation with his voice. The story was suspenseful and I could not stop listening...I use these audios for my job, & this audio I listened to off the job as well. I love reads that are full of mystery, intrigue, and this had a little touch of political reality "what if". I can't wait to test another by this author.

Of all of John Irving's books, this is the one that lends itself best to audio. In print, Owen Meany's dialogue is set in capital letters; for this production, Irving himself selected Joe Barrett to deliver Meany's difficult voice as intended. In the summer of 1953, two 11-year-old boys – best friends – are playing in a Little League baseball game in Gravesend, New Hampshire. One of the boys hits a foul ball that kills the other boy's mother. The boy who hits the ball doesn't believe in accidents; Owen Meany believes he is God's instrument. What happens to Owen after that 1953 foul ball is extraordinary and terrifying.

I loved all of the characters, individual connections, and especially the history. I was young during Vietnam era with personal loss of my father's death there, very grateful for the personal education as well. And I absolutely adored Owen Meany and his voice, what a delightful story.
