"A wonderful book!"
Deborah revealed tremendously personal thoughts and feelings about her life growing up in a Hasidic culture. An inspiring and amazing journey toward womanhood and independence. She tells the story very well!
Heroic!
Yes! I couldn't "put it down"
I would love to meet the author!
"I like the classics, but this was depressing"
his cadence was very slow
I was not able to finish the book at this time, it was too depressing for me at the time. Maybe I'll go back to it
"I tried. I really did!"
I only made it through chapter 5. The first 4 chapters were the author defending his position - that was grueling and unnecessary. Half way through chapter 5 he started doing the same thing...I couldn't take it any more. I was interested in the topic, but could not stand how defensive he was.
"Good story - a little predictable"
A good story, but I swear I have read at least 2 other books with very similar plots and characters. Therefore many elements were very predictable. Still love Kellerman though!
"Awesome adventure story"
on the island trying to figure out (along with Pi) what was going on!
Pi of course! I love the character - such a fascinating point of view on life.
My second choice would be none other than Richard Parker!
Great book! Thoroughly enjoyed the adventure!
"I tried to hang with this book..."
possibly.
While Michelle brings up some interesting points, I felt that there was too broad a blanket cast on the topic in general. It is a very opinionated book (not that is necessarily a bad thing), but I felt some basic logic was missing. What about the personal responsibility for committing the crime in the first place?
Hard to sit through if you do not agree with her position on the topic
I partially agree with some offenders should be given at least some of their "citizen" rights after a period of time, but I cannot say that this should pertain to all offenders. Although statistics support that offenders with darker skin are more likely to go to prison and serve longer sentences, I am not sure that I would go as far as saying this is a plot against all persons with darker skin.
"Raced through this one! Excellent!"
Very good
Very good reader - she brought a lot to the series and the characters
"Mostly good Kellerman"
Some irrational plot connections - not necessarily Kellerman's best work but better than some others.
"Not Kellermans best work, but fair"
There were some irrational plot leaps and assumptions by the characters.
Most of his stuff is very good 4-5 stars
Narrator was terrible. Mispronounced words, flat tone -not very professional
"Very educational"
I had very little knowledge of this portion of our history - this was very educational
