This was my first read for this author and crime solver. I would probably not read this author again. I found the main character to be distracting in his vulgar descriptions of every woman, and interaction with any woman he encountered. Could have been a good story, I just didn't see the point of his diatribe.

The story line held my interest.

Sounded like an old time Chicago mobster. The voice and style was older than the placement of the story in time.

I wish there was more. This was an intriguing and engaging trilogy from beginning to end.

I read several books in-between "Girl W/Dragon Tattoo" and this one. Nothing compared in writing, suspense and intrigue, and in narration. Steig Larrson is quickly becoming one of my favorite storytellers. Couldn't put it down to the end, I found myself sitting in my car after I arrived home, and walking around my house with head phones to keep the story going.

Outstanding suspense and storytelling. This is one of those stories that stays with you, and keeps you listening no matter where you are. A wonderful listen for exercise, because I put in an extra 20 minutes of cardio just to find out what happens next.

I can't wait for this trilogy to play itself out. Taking world events from the perspective of characters in the primary countries involved, and making the U.S. a secondary player gives a whole new view of how these nations faced their own crisis, internal and external. Masterfully written, good development of characters, and wonderful interplay from one perspective to the next.

I am a fan of Tami Hoag. Haven't read her in a long time. This is a good beginning for what I suspect will a fabulous trilogy with disturbing connotations. Can't wait for the next one.

Interesting and suspenseful, she kept me guessing until the end. Outstanding storytelling, and a perfect narration for this story. I would recommend this one to anyone who can deal with this sensitive issue. It was handled well, with descriptive passages, where I could feel their pain, without being overly graphic in detail.

This was a somewhat predictable story, but it was well done and held my attention. While readers knew there was a comspiracy afoot, it was still interesting to figure out the "why" along with the who.

Kings ability to write about the depth and breadth of the human spirit, our strengths and our tragedies has never, as in most novels, been transferred to the movie screen. He can paint a more enthralling picture with his words, than any cinema effort has been able to depict on the screen. This will without a doubt be a movie one day, read it first to enjoy his multi-dimensional lead character, the whys and wherefores of his actions, and depth of human nature in the characters. I was blown away with my emotional response to this effort. I laughed, I cried, and I cried some more.

It got a bit long in the middle, and made up for it in the end.

The lead character, who is the unwilling hero; the simple human thrust into complex realities, with all the self doubts that any of us would share in his situation.

Very well narrated. His voice was well modulated, and make listening easy, as he became the lead character and simple told his own story.

It was a surpise ending for me. Kept me guessing until the end.
