Even in Empire City, a town where weird science is the hope for tomorrow, it's hard for a robot to make his way. It's even harder for a robot named Mack Megaton, a hulking machine designed to bring mankind to its knees. But Mack's not interested in world domination. He's just a bot trying to get by, trying to demonstrate that he isn't just an automated smashing machine, and to earn his citizenship in the process. It should be as easy as crushing a tank for Mack, but some bots just cant catch a break.

Fresh inventive work here. Mack is my hero! Hope to see much more from this author.

Martinez gives character development a whole new meaning.

Years ago, Katie Sanford’s husband was convicted of the murder of Jenny Robbins, then died himself in prison. It’s a small town and memories are long, and Katie and Jenny’s husband, Chief of Police Jake Robbins, have had to work at putting the tragedy behind them. But it's all brought up again in the wake of a hurricane which has just wreaked havoc on their quiet Maine town.

Very interesting book and premise. I purchased based on a review that I read online here at Audible.
Great characters, suspenseful and I didn't want to go to sleep because I wanted to hear the end of the story.

The Talbots are evacuating their home amidst a zombie apocalypse. Mankind is on the edge of extinction as a new dominant, mindless opponent scours the landscape in search of food, which just so happens to be noninfected humans. The Talbots have escaped Little Turtle, but to what end? On the run, they find themselves encountering a far vaster evil than the one that has already beset them. As they travel across the countryside they soon learn that there are more than just zombies to be fearful of....

First, I thought I would never like a zombie book. BUT I DO. Now I am hooked on the entire Zombie Fallout series and eagerly awaiting the rest of the series. Mike and BT are my favorite characters. Tracy is very much a tell it like it is girl too.

Great action and wonderful characters! More, please.

This is the story of Michael Talbot, his family, and his friends: a band of ordinary people trying to get by in extraordinary times. When disaster strikes, Mike, a self-proclaimed survivalist, does his best to ensure the safety and security of those he cares for. Book one of the Zombie Fallout Trilogy follows our lead character at his self-deprecating, sarcastic best. What he encounters along the way leads him down a long dark road, always skirting the edge of insanity.

    Story

I've never seen a zombie movie or read a zombie book before this one. I do greatly enjoy Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden and select sci-fi but I am usually a mystery girl all the way.
Loved it! Action packed like Clive Cussler's books. Maybe it is just because I am new to the zombie genre but I listened to all of Zombie Fallout Series in one week.

The characters are great. The repartee is hilarious as long as the F word(in all its tenses and variations) doesn't bother you. Mike Talbot is the main character and he is filled with quirks and phobias that might make you think that you are sane. Great interaction between the characters and various locations and zombie battles make it a non-boring read. And Henry the bulldog is fantastic!

Annajane Hudgens truly believes she is over her ex-husband, Mason Bayless. They’ve been divorced for four years, she’s engaged to a new, terrific guy, and she’s ready to leave the small town where she and Mason had so much history. She is so over Mason that she has absolutely no problem attending his wedding to the beautiful, intelligent, delightful Celia. But when fate intervenes and the wedding is called to a halt as the bride is literally walking down the aisle, Annajane begins to realize that maybe she’s been given a second chance.

I've read and/or listened to all of the Mary Kay Andrews books. After reading a couple of other reviews for this book, I was hesitant to buy. My sister convinced me after she got the hardback. Yes, I did stay up way too late two nights in a row wanting to hear what happened next. Pokey was my favorite character because she didn't give a rip about what anyone said.

As usual with Mary Kay's books, I laughed out loud at many parts because the dialog between her characters is strong. Maybe it is because I have lived in the south all my life that many of the references resonated with me. I enjoyed this entertaining little respite from reality. Think I will go have myself a cherry soda.

Eloise Foley, known to her friends as Weezie, has been through the divorce from hell. Her ex-husband Tal (aka Talmadge Evans III) was awarded their house in Savannah's historic district, the house that Weezie had spent years painstakingly restoring to its original splendor. Weezie was awarded the two-bedroom carriage house on the same property. Each was sure the other would sell. But Tal has taken up residence in the main house with his new girlfriend Caroline DeSantos.

Start with this one ... it's great. Funny, interesting, all about antiques, friends and ex-husbands. There is even a murder mystery.
