The Zombie War came unthinkably close to eradicating humanity. Max Brooks, driven by the urgency of preserving the acid-etched firsthand experiences of the survivors from those apocalyptic years, traveled across the United States of America and throughout the world, from decimated cities that once teemed with upwards of thirty million souls to the most remote and inhospitable areas of the planet. He recorded the testimony of men, women, and sometimes children who came face-to-face with the living - or at least the undead - hell of that dreadful time.

John Spector, aka GHOST, isn’t your ordinary investigator. He carries a shiny badge, a billfold ID, and a mysterious silver suitcase. His mission? Seek the forgotten ones, the abandoned ones, the ones no one else can or will help. Visit blunt force trauma upon the world’s blackest souls and deny the devil his day by any means necessary. And never stop. Never.

    Story

This book was clearly written to push the author’s opinions on abortion and gays. The book starts off well, but it soon starts preaching the authors clear views on abortion. I buy books to enjoy good stories, and I don't want the author pushing their points of views down my throat. It's okay if the author has an opinion, and it's okay to write a book about those opinions, but don't try and disguise your intentions.
I will be asking audible for my money back.

  • Doctor Sleep

Stephen King says he wanted to know what happened to Danny Torrance, the boy at the heart of The Shining, after his terrible experience in the Overlook Hotel. The instantly riveting Doctor Sleep picks up the story of the now middle-aged Dan, working at a hospice in rural New Hampshire, and the very special 12-year old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals.

What made the experience of listening to Doctor Sleep the most enjoyable?

I listen to a lot of Stephen King, and his books always entertain. However, this one is exceptionally good. I will be revisiting The Shining to catch up with Danny as a child.
What adds to the pleasure this audio book gives, is the narration. Will Patton does an amazing job, and I felt myself being sucked in to the story. Only one other narrator has done Stephen King's tales such justice, and that was the late, great Frank Muller.
I'm a massive fan of both audio books and Stephen King alike, but the narrator can make or break it for me. Will Patton made this book a joy to listen to.
Bravo to Stephen for another great book, and bravo to Will for a great performance.
