Unlike the previous Maximum Ride books, this one has an agenda to preach to your children a religion of global warming. It implies like the future books will have the same focus. Lack of scientific principles throughtout the book with the characters guessing their way to the assumed cause of all thier problems. Not the action packed Max books we'd expected.
Story got tired very quickly. Too many mentions of teen drinking, drunken sex, etc.
Elliot with the boy in the attic.
Hated this book. I LOVED the previous Undead books, but this one wasn't worth the time or credit I spent on it! It's as if someone drugged the author and forced her at gunpoint to write another Betsy book without any planning or plot development, with the main goal of letting down her fans. A huge waste of my time. It doesn't flow like the rest of the series, but jumps from one person's viewpoint to another's. The ending is the biggest disapointment I've ever experienced in a book. Betsy is now gross, heartless, vile, and is nothing like the Besty from previous books. Certainly isn't the love story the other books were. I wish I hadn't read it, as it's spoiled the previous Undead stories for me. YUCK.
I really TRIED to like this book. Yuck. It was slow paced and it spend hours describing basically NOTHING happining!
The author speaks down to the reader, explaining why his anti-conservative values are the way we all should think.
It preaches left-wing socialism and anti-capitalist views. In this book, all companies are bad bad bad, and all litiginous lawyers are good good good. It also portrays Christianity as being only a crutch. Yuck. Don't bother with this one. The ending was as droll as the rest of the book.
What I liked most about Odd Thomas is that the book isn't filled with profanity. The author is able to convey emotions and suspense quite well without resorting to irritating "page-filler" 4 letter words. There are twists and turns so that while you may be thinking that you have the bad guy or the ending figured out, the author had other things in mind and surprises you!
