Bennie Rosato looks exactly like her identical twin, Alice Connolly, but the darkness in Alice’s soul makes them two very different women. Or at least that’s what Bennie believes, until she finds herself buried alive at the hands of her twin. Meanwhile, Alice takes over Bennie’s life, impersonating her at work and even seducing her boyfriend in order to escape the deadly mess she has made of her own life.

    "Did NOT Finish!"
    Overall

Book VERY disappointing! Could not finish it. Actions of the primary characters were not believable. Tried to keep going, but could not do it! Barely made it half way.

For ex-cop Jack Whalen, it all begins with a visit from a childhood friend, a lawyer who needs Jack's help. The family of a noted scientist has been senselessly, brutally murdered, and the scientist is nowhere to be found. But Jack has more pressing concerns. The past that drove him from the L.A.P.D. continues to haunt him. And his wife has disappeared during a routine business trip to Seattle. She never checked into her hotel. She isn't answering her cell phone. She is gone.

    "More Sci-Fi than Murder Mystery"
    Overall

Professional reviews did not indicate this would be more sci-fi than murder mystery. Could NOT finish this book, as it just did not make ANY sense, and it seemed to hang together LESS the more I listened. Made it through 2/3 of the book, but could not continue.

Under Platform 13 at Kings Cross Station there is a secret door that leads to a magical island. It appears only once every nine years. And when it opens, four mysterious figures step into the streets of London. A wizard, an ogre, a fey, and a young hag have come to find the prince of their kingdom, stolen as a baby nine years before.

    "Print vs. Voice"
    Overall

Audible version and Scholastic print version (copyright 2000) do not agree. Much is left out, so it is difficult for a child to follow voice with print copy.
