I'm sorry, but Lee James' voice doesn't sound like a guy who is in his mid-30's, I had to replay Bram's description to make sure he wasn't as old as James sounded. I forced myself to listen to the book in its entirety, but it was torture. Landon's narration at times was too overly "come hither" or a bad attempt at being sly and seductive.

The recording also doesn't flow, you can hear where parts were cut and placed together or where the recording was stopped and then started to switch between narrators. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this multiple narration book as I have with others. I am hoping that reading the book itself will be more enjoyable.

In this third audiobook in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they're plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and prevent her army from invading Earth. Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl trapped on a satellite since childhood who's only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she's being forced to work for Queen Levana, and she's just received orders to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

This book by far kept me wanting to know what happens next. I could actually visually see the ship and locations they were in based on the humor and descriptions. Some parts were sad, but this book clarifies a lot of what happened on Lunar and the years in which Cinder was in stasis.

I'm sad that I rushed in going straight to the third book as now I want to go right for the next book which hasn't come out yet. Ms. Meyer has done a very good job with merging the fairy tale stories together into one.

She's trying to break out of prison - even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive. Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. This second book of the Lunar Chronicles about Red Riding Hood is okay. I agree with the other reviewers in that it didn't reach my expectation. The story itself was okay, but I couldn't really pay attention and Scarlet for me came off as whiny. My interest waned when it jumped to Scarlet and Wolf but revived during the parts of Cinder and Kai. I felt like this book was rushed in regards to the story as the Red Riding Hood story isn't as long and memorable (other than when the wolf ate her and the hunter killed him to get her out of his stomach) as Cinderella or other fairy tales.

At first reading the summary I was a bit hesitant at buying this book. But after reading several of the reviews, I took a chance. Then another one on the second book and again on the third. Now I can't wait for the next installment!

For those who love the Cinderella story, this one has a total spin on the story and so far, I like this version compared to the other versions of Cinderella. The cruelty of the stepmother and stepsister is consistent with the exception of the younger stepsister who actually has a fondness for Cinder. Instead of mice as companions, she has a very animated android that in some parts made me wish I had one and other made me want to hit her power off button.

Would I listen to this again? Yes. I don't think I can read the book because it wouldn't be the same as hearing it.

    Story

I don't know where to begin.

    Narrator:

The narrator's reading of the book was SO slow and sounded too ditzy to me that in order to finish the book, I increased the speed. Unfortunately, that made it worse. The voices of the male characters only sounded like she had laryngitis. Were it not for it being in the first person, I don't think I would have been able to distinguish when it was Ana that was talking or Christian. The attempt at emphasizing a sentence between actions (kissing each body part) was...not....good. I..found..myself....cringing.....at every...attempt. (Said in Captain Kirk's voice)

The accents, oh lord, the accents. British? More like an awful attempt at mimicking Robin Leach and painfully failing. I'm not sure why she gave the mother a VERY light southern accent when her mother and new husband were transplants from Oregon..

    Storyline: (may be harsh)

I know this is from fanfiction, but I would think a little bit more research would have been done regarding the terminology to make the story more believable. I couldn't help but roll my eyes whenever "medulla oblongata" was uttered to kick her into motion from whatever shock she was in.

A Blackberry? Really? If you're going to put in the "latest macbook pro that's not even out in the market yet" in the book, an Iphone would have served much better as a phone (because he is a multi-billionaire who has the "latest gadgets," after all) instead of a Blackberry which in 2011 was already a year behind in design and specs compared to other cell phone manufacturers and business users were beginning to move onto a different platform for mobile email and communication.

To call this an erotic novel is giving the genre as well as BSDM a bad name. Erotic is The Story of O, an erotic author is someone like Anaiis Nin. I think this is a very poor attempt of a little fish trying to play in the big fish pond. But yet, the masses are eating it up and E.L. James is quite wealthy at the moment.

This is another disappointed book purchase.

I've just started listening to Hammered and just like the first two books, I have to watch myself at work from laughing out loud or snorting. The narration of the various characters are on par in my view, especially Oberon with his obsession of French poodles and love of sausages.

Pocket has been Lear's cherished fool for years. So naturally Pocket is at his brainless, elderly liege's side when Lear demands that his kids swear to him their undying love and devotion. Of course Goneril and Regan are only too happy to brownnose Dad. But Cordelia believes that her father's request is kind of...well...stupid, and her blunt honesty ends up costing her her rightful share of the kingdom and earns her a banishment to boot.

Hilarious listen. I was undecided as to what Christopher Moore book to listen to next after A Dirty Job. This one came up as a sale and have enjoyed it so far. I listen to books during the day at work to block out the incessant chit-chat around me and it's really hard to contain myself from laughing out loud.

This book is not for those who are easily offended by colorful language, children, or hearing about "manly bits."

"Shag a man and shag a fool, one is the same as the other!"
