Tandia is a child of all Africa: half Indian, half African, beautiful and intelligent, she is only sixteen when she is first brutalized by the police. Her fear of the white man leads her to join the black resistance movement. With her in the fight for justice is the one white man Tandia can trust, the welterweight champion of the world, Peekay. Now he must fight their common enemy in order to save both their lives.

    "Tandia - a wonderful story"

This is a beautiful and emotionally wrenching story set in South Africa under Apartheid. The narrator is outstanding. I will definitely look for other books by this author, or narrated by this narrator.

In an unparalleled collaboration, two leading global thinkers in technology and foreign affairs give us their widely anticipated, transformational vision of the future: a world where everyone is connected - a world full of challenges and benefits that are ours to meet and to harness. Eric Schmidt is one of Silicon Valley’s great leaders, having taken Google from a small startup to one of the world’s most influential companies. Jared Cohen is the director of Google Ideas and a former adviser to secretaries of state Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator made some major gaffes.

If you’ve listened to books by Eric Schmidt and Jared Cohen before, how does this one compare?

    not applicable

What aspect of Roger Wayne’s performance would you have changed?

In one section he refers to NATO's activities in Siberia, which clearly should have been Serbia - this was one of several gaffes. This particular one really needs to be fixed by Audible. I'm amazed that the narrator didn't realize the error and even more amazed that the producer/editor didn't catch it.

Was The New Digital Age worth the listening time?

    Yes

What did you love best about Terror Comes Knocking?

It was a good contemporary setting of a terrorist plot in upstate NY. The technology details were generally good, although I thought a weakness was when Zafina searches her handbag looking for her address book to find a phone number. Since she has a cell phone, any normal person nowadays would just look through the recently called numbers.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

To some extent, although it was pretty obvious where the plot was leading from fairly early on. It did have some nice twists.

What three words best describe Robert King Ross’s performance?

I didn't particularly care for the narrator. His voice was too deep for this particular novel, especially for the female parts.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Retired doctor foils upstate NY terror plot, while tending his garden and his invalid wife.

    Any additional comments?

While overall I liked the book, it felt like it was not quite sure what it wanted to be. Part YA novel, part action thriller, part romance novel with steamy sexual innuendos, part Martha Stewart telling us about gardening.

Always leave a little salt on the bread. Ikey Solomon's favorite saying is also his way of doing business, and in the business of thieving he's very successful indeed. Ikey's partner in crime is his mistress, the forthright Mary Abacus, until misfortune befalls them. They are parted and each must make the harsh journey from thriving nineteenth century London to the convict settlement of Van Diemen's Land.

The story is expertly brought to life by Humphrey Bower's narration - he does a great job with all the different characters and accents.
