For much of her life, Anne Morrow, the shy daughter of the U.S. ambassador to Mexico, has stood in the shadows of those around her, including her millionaire father and vibrant older sister, who often steals the spotlight. Then Anne, a college senior with hidden literary aspirations, travels to Mexico City to spend Christmas with her family. There she meets Colonel Charles Lindbergh, fresh off his celebrated 1927 solo flight across the Atlantic. Enthralled by Charles’s assurance and fame, Anne is certain the celebrated aviator has scarcely noticed her. But she is wrong.

    Story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I was not of that generation so only knew of the Lindburgh history as the 2 main events: transatlantic flight and kidnapping. This story beautifully captures the complex and flawed american hero. More importantly the story of his crew and wife Anne Morrow. Her story draws you in.

What aspect of Lorna Raver’s performance would you have changed?

In the beginning, I found the tone of her voice to be a bit grating. As I got deeper into the story line, it was less bothersome.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Anne's growing self sufficiency and growing strength as Charles became more and more absent from their home after the war.

Graham Greene’s evocative analysis of the love of self, the love of another, and the love of God is an English classic that has been translated for the stage, the screen, and even the opera house. Academy Award-winning actor Colin Firth (The King’s Speech, A Single Man) turns in an authentic and stirring performance for this distinguished audio release.

What made the experience of listening to The End of the Affair the most enjoyable?

The story was smartly written. It transports you back in time. The choice of Colin Firth as narrator was a brilliant choice. He was able to handily career the complexities and nuances of the storyline and character dialog.

If you could sum up Fifty Shades Darker in three words, what would they be?

    Steamy, intriguing, captivating

What does Becca Battoe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Becca Battoe brought the characters to life. Great range of voices. She WAS Anastasia.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

You wanted to know what happened to the characters. Listened all three in a mere weeks.
