Eerie, dreamlike, set in a world that is weirdly related to our own, The Gunslinger introduces Roland Deschain of Gilead, of In-World that was, as he pursues his enigmatic antagonist to the mountains that separate the desert from the Western Sea in the first volume of The Dark Tower series. Roland, the last gunslinger, is a solitary figure, perhaps accursed, who with a strange single-mindedness traverses an exhausted, almost timeless landscape of good and evil.

Would you listen to The Gunslinger again? Why?

I got really invested in this book quickly. This is only the 2nd Stephen King book I have ever read and I truly understand why he is.... "STEPHEN KING". I loved the character of Roland and all that he stands for.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Roland for sure he was really the only main character in this 1st book in the series. later in the books I fell in love with Jake but he did not stick out much in this book.

Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no but he was a great narrator!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    not really...

    Any additional comments?

I wish that overall there were less curse words in this whole series. All the books run together in my head so I am not sure how bad this book was, but overall I don't like to be cursed at and there is really no need for it, it does not make the story any better or real.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I love a long book, but I need to be able to stay interested in it the whole time. I found this very hard to do. I also love sci-fi, but again, it needs to be intersting. So I am not sure who would want to listen to this. I guess the characters were just hard to care about, so then who cares what happens to them.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I am going to try to finish Noble House.

Which character – as performed by John Lee – was your favorite?

none, it wall all one long lonlg long grey monotone.

What character would you cut from Judas Unchained?

The leader or president or whever he was that asked Melanie to mary him out of the blue. What in the world was he needed for? NOTHING

    Any additional comments?

I did not really hate it, but that is the best I can say. I forced myself to finish it.

But born with a quick wit and a gift for thieving, Locke Lamora has dodged both death and slavery, only to fall into the hands of an eyeless priest known as Chains---a man who is neither blind nor a priest. A con artist of extraordinary talent, Chains passes his skills on to his carefully selected "family" of orphans---a group known as the Gentlemen Bastards.

It took me awhile to get into this book, but when I did, I really enjoyed the completly otherworldly feel of the setting all the glass buildings and bridges was very interesting to me. I liked the underdog bad guy that you eneded up rooting for. I loved the connection that the gentlemen bastards have. And the strong if laughable integrity of Loch. Over all it was a long book but that only gave the writer more time to clearly develop all the characters.

Growing up with telepathic abilities, Sookie Stackhouse realized early on there were things she'd rather not know. And now that she's an adult, she also realizes that some things that she knows about, she'd rather not see—like Eric Northman feeding off another woman. A younger one. There's a thing or two she'd like to say about that, but she has to keep quiet—Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town.

If you could sum up Deadlocked in three words, what would they be?

    SO VERY GOOD!

What other book might you compare Deadlocked to and why?

just the others in the series, I have not read many vampire books so I dont have much to compare them with.

Which character – as performed by Johanna Parker – was your favorite?

well... Eric of course! What is not to like about a huge strong blonde Viking, vampire???? I love his accent and the deep voice she uses, I can't fail to mention Sookie also, I grew up in Shreveport so I love the correct accent she uses, some might think that it is a cajun accent, but WAY up north LA it is just a good southern accent and she knew that and used it. I am always amazed at how well she does every voice, I can always tell who is speaking based on the voice and the accent, She really has an amazing tallent in this area!

Who was the most memorable character of Deadlocked and why?

of EVERY book it is Eric, I want one!!

    Any additional comments?

WHY did you leave the end the way you did? It is not fair that I should have to wait years maybe to find out what happened. Do you want me to die early due to lack of sleep? You could have given a hint!!!
