I got really invested in this book quickly. This is only the 2nd Stephen King book I have ever read and I truly understand why he is.... "STEPHEN KING". I loved the character of Roland and all that he stands for.
Roland for sure he was really the only main character in this 1st book in the series. later in the books I fell in love with Jake but he did not stick out much in this book.
no but he was a great narrator!
I wish that overall there were less curse words in this whole series. All the books run together in my head so I am not sure how bad this book was, but overall I don't like to be cursed at and there is really no need for it, it does not make the story any better or real.
The love story. That is why I keep buying these
John Matthew, he is sweet and had had such a hard life.
He does them all very well. I have no favorite
I will say again, I wish these vampires that are hundreds of years old did not talk like teenage thugs. It does not fit the characters.
it ranks fairly high! I am glad I found it and read or listened to it!
I can't remember his name but the servent who was the rememberer I liked everything about him. Sasid! not sure if that is how you spell it but that is how it sounds!
no this is my 1st I think.
well I liked it enough to immediately start the 2nd book but this is not really a laughing type of book and I am not really a crier.
nope this ws just a good fantasy book with good likeable characters and his writing really allows you to feel like you know them. the narrator helps with that also as he is really good with all the different voices.
the story if you can catch it, is reasonably good.
I'm not sure, if it is al written in this overly wordy style, NO
the main character Mr Shawnesee
I am not sure I could handle it, this story jumps around and I really have no idea where we are in the story half the time. at the VERY beginning he is seeing a naked woman in the post office but I dont understand what that has to do with ANYTHING. Maybe at the end of the book it will be explained. And what is all this about a republic? I don't think they are in Texas.
I dont want to be mean, but this book is hard for me to listen to, I am usually comitted to finish any book I start, so I am slowy making it through this one.
OH TOTALLY YES!!
how can I choose? Brashen? Althea? Paragon? Rain? I am ln love with all these people
I guess Brashen,
I guess Rain's love for Malta.
This book held me spellbound! I went and bought EVER Robin Hobb book
given her a better final partner. SERIOUSLY???
only if she corrects the way she screwed up the love story
no, this was a let down that I waited a year for. What more is there to say?
I liked it alot and was going to go on and read the series but after the reviews I will rethink that.
I love a long book, but I need to be able to stay interested in it the whole time. I found this very hard to do. I also love sci-fi, but again, it needs to be intersting. So I am not sure who would want to listen to this. I guess the characters were just hard to care about, so then who cares what happens to them.
I am going to try to finish Noble House.
none, it wall all one long lonlg long grey monotone.
The leader or president or whever he was that asked Melanie to mary him out of the blue. What in the world was he needed for? NOTHING
I did not really hate it, but that is the best I can say. I forced myself to finish it.
It took me awhile to get into this book, but when I did, I really enjoyed the completly otherworldly feel of the setting all the glass buildings and bridges was very interesting to me. I liked the underdog bad guy that you eneded up rooting for. I loved the connection that the gentlemen bastards have. And the strong if laughable integrity of Loch. Over all it was a long book but that only gave the writer more time to clearly develop all the characters.
SO VERY GOOD!
just the others in the series, I have not read many vampire books so I dont have much to compare them with.
well... Eric of course! What is not to like about a huge strong blonde Viking, vampire???? I love his accent and the deep voice she uses, I can't fail to mention Sookie also, I grew up in Shreveport so I love the correct accent she uses, some might think that it is a cajun accent, but WAY up north LA it is just a good southern accent and she knew that and used it. I am always amazed at how well she does every voice, I can always tell who is speaking based on the voice and the accent, She really has an amazing tallent in this area!
of EVERY book it is Eric, I want one!!
WHY did you leave the end the way you did? It is not fair that I should have to wait years maybe to find out what happened. Do you want me to die early due to lack of sleep? You could have given a hint!!!
