History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

    Overall

Kearsley hits the ball out of the park. The best "time fiction" is seamless and believable; this is it and more. I've spent time in Scotland and she nailed her Scottish, present day characters and her other "Character:" Scotland itself, past and present.

Cate Fante is strong and smart, but when she gets appointed a federal judge, even she wonders if she can do the job justice. She's in her 30s, and she feels like she's joining the world's most exclusive retirement village. But Cate keeps her doubts a secret. And, as it happens, much else. For she leads a dark, double life that she hides from everyone.

    "GREAT LISTEN!"
    Overall

Scottoline's latest delivers humor, suspense, murder, friendship, a little love, and the city of brotherly love all wrapped up in a female, federal judge with a "dark side." I listen to anything with Lisa Scottoline's name on it because I can't put down my iPOD and, well,I'm from Philly!
