"Makes me proud to be an American."
Yes, I always enjoy the audio version - brings the story to life.
Chris Kyle, by far.
I particulary like his story of his experiences of living as a cowboy.
How the soldiers took care of each other. The fact that the Chris was willing to be so honest about his feelings and that he knows what he did was the right thing to do.
What a great book. After reading his story, I went to look for similar stories that would inspire me and how my every day living in the safety of an American suburb - is not free but has been paid by American blood of men and women who laid down their lives so we can live under the banner of safety.
"Seminal book on war in Afghanistan in this era."
I was fortunate enough to hear the author as a guest speaker at a dinner event. I purchased the book out of curiosity, but what a great book of one's man first hand observation of daily battles in Afghanistan. The author's insight on the culture of the land and the culture of the American's who defend our freedom and the freedom of others.
The author himself, how he was driven to keep writing under such dangerous circumstances to bring the stories and accounts of what takes place in a real battle.
When the author was actually shot at and the bullets started to whiz by him.
I did not cry or laugh, but it brought the reality of war and the bravery of our millitary to real life.
I had an opportunity to send a personal note to the author and thanked him for writing this book.
"Great insight - fascinating reading"
Absolutely a must read for all American patriots. This is a great account on what went on with with the non-existant "tourture" and the men and women who protect this country every day.
It is the real "Mitch Rapp" book.
Excellent recount of the history.
Yes, I listened to the book in one day.
It is comforting that there are still man and women who serve and protect the people not the politicians who spinn facts to support thier own needs.
"Best of America, honor and character astounding"
The suspense, the real drama, the detail and the love story between the main character and his wife. The bravery of America's soldiers who are willing to lay their life down so all Americans can live free and be critical of American millitary. The reader of the book brings this story to life: especially the funeral of the fallen soldier. I was listening to the last portion of the story while shopping for groceries and could not help but cry. I had to explain to people I was O.K. but listening to a great book. This story is what makes America the best country in this world.
The bravery of America's soldiers, the honor they bring to our country and the fact that the millitary men and woman go beyond their duties to keep our country safe is stunning to those of us who live our lives in relative safety and warmth of our homes.
Steve Weber brings a realm of reality and emotions to the story. He brings the book to life.
I laughed and cried. I thought the light hearted banter among the soldiers was funny, I also could envision the scene where they stole the truck in Africa and then tried to explain the
The book and the story was so inspiring. My small troubles of everyday life seem so small compared to one man giving up his life for his fellow soldiers and the freedom that we so much enjoy in America.
