On a rainy November day, police detectives Pia Kirchhoff and Oliver von Bodenstein are summoned to a mysterious traffic accident: a woman has fallen from a pedestrian bridge onto a car driving underneath. According to a witness, the woman may have been pushed. The investigation leads Pia and Oliver to a small village, and the home of the victim, Rita Cramer. On a September evening eleven years earlier, two seventeen-year-old girls vanished from the village without a trace.

I enjoyed the book, although I am certain if I spoke German, or was more familiar with the German names, I might have given it 5 stars all around. It was a good story that kept my attention though out.

The beautiful but twisted Jakoby Twins are creating transgenic monsters and genetically enhanced mercenaries for sale to the highest bidder. Their father, who takes evil to an entirely new level, is using cutting-edge science to complete the Nazi master-race program.

Okay, the story MIGHT seem a little far fetched...but the story line and the characters are always so believable. I could not wait to finish, but was very sad when I did. This sadness was due to a couple of reasons, which i won't be a spoiler to tell. I could see myself listening to this book again in a year or so..it was that good

This book had the potential of being a great one, but it just never happened. I went on and on and about all of what had happened instead of as it happened.
All the different countries and their spin on it...but none of it seemed real or even very thought provoking. And i love end of the world, zombie, mystery thrillers. Even the many voices of celebrity readers did not improve the way the story was told. I am anxious to see the movie, but based on the book, i will more than likely wait for the DVD
