This book wrapped up the series well. Seemed a bit like a bit too much was crammed into this book trying to tie up story archs. Overall a solid read.
There is not much to say about this book. Everyone has read a book like this, which has characters with no depth. The dialogue is simply words on a page with little energy or emotional attachment. The entire contents of this book could have been produced in a few chapters by a better writter. I got to the end of the book still waiting for the book to start. I am not impressed. I think in the entire book there are maybe 2-3 fights between the hero and the antagonists. There were very few moments of actual intrest. There was very little in the area of universe development and very little character development. The main character only goes through 1 point of development (determining to be the leader that everyone else expects him to be.) The Main character in the last chapter is basically the same as in the first chapter. This is poorly executed. The author doesn't even understand basic story telling, conflict drives character>character drives plot> plot drives story. There really isn't a story here. When the characters in your book are still dealing with the same quandry in the last chapter as in the first, you have a bad story.I would recommend the StarFleet series if you are looking for more entertaining space epics.
Needs more content designed at driving the plot. There is a ton of missused space in this novel. It is one of those books were you read the whole thing and are still waiting for the book to begin. There are whole chapters that really don't add to the plot at all and the book basically goes nowhere but to build some basic characters and some plot lines.
Create more interplay between the characters.
Describe the world more. Basically you only have 2 points of interest in this book. The house where the main character grew up and the castle he gets invited to. There is not a dynamic environment in this book at all and that is a character on its own in epic fantasy.
He was clear and his voices were not bad. Good pace as well.
The book was not terrible but I think people are overrating it.
I like the concept.
I don't know of any books like this one. Other than the rest in the series.
Very funny in some of the satire.
I listend to all the books in this series. It is a very good series with a lot of humor and good characters. I only point out 3 things that make the books a litle less than amazing.
1. The author builds into his story a loophole that allows him to manipulate any plot conflict without any restraints. While the entire series hindges on this one loophole. I applaud the creative idea behind it but it leaves no challange in creating smart resolutions to conflicts. Your plot just uses the loophole to solve every problem.
2. The characters while using and adhearing to a military complex of honor would not necessarily react as they do in the books to many of the situations that happen. I found myself getting pissed off at the main characters quite frequently. For example: Someone is going to try to assasinate a main character and the main character does nothing about it but try to make nice.... that would never happen in a military or political situation.
3. Much of the books could be condensed or use the pages to elaborate on the main plot archs.
This all being said. The book series is still a great read and a ton of fun.
He performs all characters with amazing skill.
This book is probably the slowest of the series. I kept wanting to reach through the pages and smack Kylar in the back of the head. I think this book takes way to long to develop the character arch for Kylar. He really wouldn't have taken months to make the decisions he made.
The book is still good but I think the character arch for Kylar got a bit out of whack.
Just a really great flowing story.
All of them. He does an amazing job!
Laughing it caused at moments.
