  • The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

    • UNABRIDGED (3 hrs and 49 mins)
    • By L. Frank Baum
    • Narrated By Anne Hathaway

One of the best-known stories in American culture, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has stirred the imagination of young and old alike for over 100 years. Best Actress nominee Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married, Alice In Wonderland), fresh from filming one of this year’s most anticipated films, The Dark Knight Rises, lends her voice to this uniquely American fairy tale.

Adam Shields says: "The movie was definitely an adaptation"
    "Wonderful , Magical Ride"
    Any additional comments?

I received a free download of The Wonderful Wizard of OZ for being a member of It is part of their new collection called the A-List collection which is some classics that are narrated by actors. Each actor had a hand in choosing the book they would narrate. I had read the book several years ago and of course the movie is one of my favorite movies. Although as with most Hollywood adaptations the book and the movie had a lot of differences. Some things in the book were left out of course and some things were changed like the slippers. I thought that Anne Hathaway did an excellent job with the narrations. She had a different voice for each character and was consistent with her delivery of each voice. The only voice I had an issue with was the voice of the king of the mice. It was just grating and I actually cringed when she did that voice but luckily it was a very small part of the story. This would make a great book for a long road trip with children as they would be entertained immensely by it. I highly recommend this book.

  • The 9th Judgment: The Women's Murder Club

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 48 mins)
    • By James Patterson, Maxine Paetro
    • Narrated By Carolyn McCormick
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

During an intimate dinner party, a cat burglar breaks into the home of A-list actor Marcus Dowling. When his wife walks in on the thief, the situation quickly teeters out of control, leaving an empty safe and a lifeless body.

Suzn F says: "Really Good Storyline"
"Great Installment in a great series"

This is the 9th installment of the Women's Murder Club. In this one Lindsey , Cindy. Yuki, and Claire are dealing with two Different criminals. Hello Kitty (who we learn the identity of very early in the book) A female cat burglar who is targetting wealthy people, and the Lipstick Killer who is going around killing mothers and their babies. At first the Hello Kitty crimes take priority because one of the victims was killed and she just happened to be a famous actress married to a famous actor. But soon the Lisptick Killer murder take over as they become more frequent. We really don't hear much from any of the girls except for Lindsey this book as the story line seems to focus more on her (even more so than usual)

As usual there are plenty of twists and turns to keep you turning the pages or as in my case listening as I listened to this on audio. This is still my favorite series of Patterson and I thought this installment was really good.
