I came across this series completely by accident and love it. This is one of the most refreshingly interesting and funny things I have heard in years.
Boring banal. Trite silly sexy bits that add nothing to the plot. Silly plot , romance, and men looking into each others eyes like school kids. Even the murders were boring. AND God help the literary world- it's the first of a series.
Not as atmospheric as "Chiefs " which the reason I bought this book. A solid story , if unlikely, not that anyone cares . A good listen .
Just think of how easy it is to eat fairy floss ---- just listen to this and zone out into fluff land .
Bodice ripping , soft porn junk don't bother even going there . I thought this book was a historical novel but naa just trite yuck
This series is so intricate. Research extraordinary and the people real yet set in an era that is so difficult to imagine except through this book
What a story.I knew about the events described in the book but truly didn't understand what the motivation for the forger was before. I found the forger a very sympathetic character.
The author puts art and history together. Easy to listen to and understand.I found I was researching artists and works as the narrative continued. Of course there will be some gaps -- but overall pretty cool.
Couldn't even finish listening to this . The whole thing is slow and has a lot of genealogical information that is extraneous to the plot.
Unlistenable. The narrator's high pitched little girl voice used for the main character drove me mad. Just think of fingernails on a chalkboard.
