I have read her other books primarily because I live in Charleston, SC and found them interesting for that reason. Her characters generally lack depth and believability, but this is the worst book to date. I will not bother with future books if there are any!

The characters and their actions were uninteresting and shallow. The narrator was difficult to listen so I skipped over parts to try to get to the plot. Not worth my time.

I don't think I could listen to an entire book based on the first chapter. The main character becomes a butcher, which is ok, but the author's descriptions remind me of Sweeney Todd.

I purchased this because Kristin Chenoweth was a narrator, and because I would love to live in NYC!
It took two tries to listen to the book, but when I finally got into the book I found it enjoyable because of the multiple narrators, and because I wanted to find out how it concluded.

Bill presents his straight forward and common sense method of decision making and interactions with others. We need this kind of logic in the chaos of today's environment.

The plot is predictable, but it could be a fluff listen if the reader were not so TERRIBLE. I still have two thirds of the book left, but she is so bad I will move onto something else.

I recommend this book to everyone. Until I moved to the SC low country four years ago, I lived in the north, and I am a caucasian. The South is like a different country. I did not understand the issue regarding the confederate flag flying over the state capitol. Since listening to this book, I have an entirely different perspective regarding both the flag issue and some of the problems black southerners faced in the 20th Century.

Story is lame and the narrator makes the characters ridiculous.

The book and the narrator made for a very enjoyable listen. I was very sorry when it ended! I will be looking for more books by this author as well as the narrator.

I have been a member of Audible for over a year, and purchased many, many books. This one was a true waste. Although the reviews for this book were not good, I wanted a mindless story and the price was right, but as it turned out this story was less than mindless. The plot and characters are totally ridiculous and the reader was even worse. Save your money.
