"One Real Thing - A Great Love Story"
Yes, I have searched high and low for something different. I was sick of the cookie cutter stories. My reading buddies will find this story funny and sweet. Holy and Nick with lighten up their hearts.
I loved Holy, he was exciting and entertaining. I waited for his next move to get the one he loved. He was a mess at the beginning but when Nick gives him his class ring as a reminder to be strong. My heart melted for them both. I actually love both characters which is unusual for me, this story is a sweet love story.
I loved the story, and I don't want to spill the beans but when Holy went to his old apartment.
Anah Crow and Dianne Fox does an excellent job creating a perfect love story between two males who had both been in previous relationships with females, and Nick was married. The compassion, loyalty, friendship, love and lust they have for one another kept my heart beating for them to get together. It kept me laughing.
I really would like to comment on the Narrative. He was excellent, his voice for male and female was perfect. Most male narratives
"I Tip My Hat - BRAVO!"
I tip my hat and bow to authors John Green, and David Levithanl. They both joined together to created a wonderful story about two guys with the same name Will Grayson and Will Grayson, a.k.a. OWG.
They got it right! They created characters that carried you along side them when they were going through their ups, and downs, when they were being betrayed, or having special tender moments while with friends or family, they made you say awe…!
Tiny was one of my favorite characters along with Will Grayson’s mother. She reminded me of what I would do if my son was to bring home a date, whether male or female. I would try to make everything perfect. My son would probably act just like Will Grayson, a little... embarrassed.
I love the fact that the authors chose to make Will Grayson, not Will Grayson a.k.a. OWG, Bi-Polar and he must take medication in order to feel. Most people think they understand depression, but they don't, not his kind of depression. However the authors kind of hit the nail on the hand when Will Grayson explains his thoughts on the subject of depression. I loved it, because it's real. Yes, of course we all get depressed, while never really understanding the magnitude of someone who is Bi-polar depression which is like teetering between death and hell.
Tiny, on the other hand, is loud and gay, he is a wonderful character. I love the fact that he knows who he is. Not only is there no closet big enough for him one would have to put locks and bolts on the other side to try to keep him in. I cheered him on as he perseverance with his show, which was basically about him and his pain.
The narrators, MacLeod Andrews and Nick Podehl were perfect and they couldn’t had pick a better set to tell the story. I am not a singer, can’t sing a lick, but the unexpected singing was fantastic and an added perk, if I say so myself. Bravo!
I would like to recommend this story to anyone who can listen, and want to listen to a well written, and vocally entertaining story. Pick this one you can’t go wrong. It’s all about relationships and how their friend and families all plays a part in their journey in life and how their choices affect those around them emotional whether good or bad, the outcome is always a lesson, one which we had to learn in order to grow into the Will Graysons of the world.
I hope this was helpful in your search of finding a good story.
"A Wonderful Story About A Star Quaterback - Bobby"
The title, "Out of the Pocket," by author Bill Konigsberg writes a great story about a guy named Bobby Framingham and he is the star quarterback at a popular high school in California. He has a great team that he trust, and they all formed a special bond like brothers. His teammates doesn't know that he is gay, and at the time he probably didn't either. However, his life starts to change after visions during inopportune time. They started popping up in his daydreams, telling secrets about himself he hadn't known. Disturbing as these day dreams are to him, initially, they eventually turns into desire. That part of Bobby that he had always known was different from all his other teammates, it reveals itself and he's enlightened after realizing that he is gay.
The story is well written and each character comes to life as Joshua Swanson narrates the story. You can vividly picture each character distinctly as they appear in the story.
The overall story is better than average, a great story. I tend to lean toward stories based off the unknown closet hangers, blinded and bound by their secret until one day reality kicks in and changes their lives forever. The out come will depend on the characters ability to deal with his own acceptance to who he is. Bobby Framingham have a lot to deal with and is forced into spilling his secret to a student reporter. How he deals with it at this point is when the story gets very interesting.
Back stabbing, betrayal, lust, trust, and fear all the makings of a good read. Adding the desire and determination to the story and you know you can't go wrong.
"Excellent!"
The Brook Street Thief, first book of the series was an excellent choice since I usually don't do short stories. The story is well written and the narrator brought the characters to life. I really hate giving stories five stars because there is always something wrong in the story it self or with the narrative. Ava March and Charlie Belmont, both delivery five star quality.
I would recommend, The Brook Street Thief, to anyone who is looking for something different, not the same old same old, tired, dragged out format. The characters are charming and the storyline is fantastic. I loved it. I will purchase book two in the series.
I hope this was useful without me including the story.
"A Heart Wrenching "Five Star" Love Story! Worth listening!"
Seriously! One of the pleasures and bonus of "Living In Daddy`s Closet by Michael Lee Tucker," was the beautiful love song, "Let Love Abide." The actual music, which was a first for me, right in the storyline. A real treat! Douglas, the lover, of the main character Harlan, wrote the lyrics for him, the one person he loves more than life itself. The audience, his aunt, mother and her boy friend all witness the love in the words and the way it was sang. Douglas indeed was in love with Harlan. It was beautiful, I felt the epitome of his love, as if I was standing in the living room of Lillian's house watching the very handsome blond hair blue eyes, Douglas, expressing his love for Harlan. Just a few of the lyrics to the song he sang, "When the autumn winds caress you... as the summer wind subsides... may the thought of me possess you...and let love abide..." Something like this, a beautiful song written by two lovers who love will go through the test of time.
The main character Harlan is highly intelligent, talented, handsome, and fascinating and when he discovers true love with the president of the local bank only son, name Douglas, his life is filled with love, and dreams. Their small world get smaller and smaller as the playing field changes with each choice Harlan makes hoping to bring his lover closer, while keeping everyone from questioning their sexuality.
Harlan loves and respects his Aunt Lillian. She Plays an important role in his life. The 50's theme was family and what better way to prove you are a man. Aunt Lillian was a way with Harlan and just by her suggestion she could get him to do what she wants. She raised him like if he was her own son and tried to protect him from the ugliness of the world. He will do all within his power to please her, to make her proud.
The characters are well written and speak with authentic voices as they pass on their morality and traditions to their love ones but unaware of how it affects each of their lives. The story is so captivating as it draws you into the secrets lives of hidden secrets in a small town in Stockton, California.
I am patiently waiting for Volume II. The story is well worth listening, the cover is not the best but the writing and story is fantastic!
"Fantastic Short Stories"
I wasn't expecting four short stories, however each story was well written and the narrators were excellent. I am alway searching for my next adventure in the Fiction genre and this section fit the bill. Each story was very different, not your typical storyline that gets old fast. For me, it was refreshing without the dread feeling of "read that!"
If you are looking for; male/male sexy romance short stories, start here and let the narrator take you into four romantic stories.
"Hexed a great story."
Overall, this was a great listen. I enjoyed the Protagonist and his protégée. The narrator was very good and he kept the mood and the story interesting. Whether, reading or listening to Hexed, which I'd done both, you can't go wrong. Thank you guys you all are fantastic.
