First, I would highly recommend you read the first two books of this series before you start with this book. There is a lot of reference to previous characters, scenes, and plots that took place in the first two books of this series, plus they are just fantastic reads as well.
This book tied it up the story so nicely for me. It wasn’t a pretty relationship that came together and everything fit like a puzzle. Their story was heartbreaking and warming and ugly and real. Hauk and Jolie had to fight for their relationship with the world and themselves. Jolie had to learn to trust in someone besides herself and Hauk had to learn to let someone love him for him. From the moment I started listening to this story until the end, I was right there with them. Every twist and turn, had my tuning out the world to follow their story. I love Hauk. I wish a guy like him was in my future. He is brave, loyal, generous, very passionate and full of life, despite the events that have happened in his life. Jolie is beautiful, smart, sass and courageous. She is beauty and smarts in a package deal. I will not give too much of the plot away but I will say that I cried.
I have mixed feelings about this book. It was a decent paranormal romance and I found myself liking Mandy Roth as an author the more books I read of hers but some aspects of this book I find extremely difficult to believe.
The book contain a decent amount of action. It was just enough for the listener not to get bored.
The characters are well developed within the story each providing their own tragic back story.
The angst between the hero and the heroine is heartbreaking in it's intensity but also heartwarming. Loving someone for that amount of time and to such a degree that no one compares is both tragic and poetic.
Just because someone changes their last name and grows up, doesn't mean you forget how they look. I understand you have been through some tragedy in the last three years but seriously, you have no idea who this man is to you. I'm not going to give away any spoilers, but it's suffice to say, I caught myself thinking a couple of times, “are you really this stupid”.
What about Exavier's mom? Why did she do what she did? Will that question ever be answered?
The narrators voice sounding as if she was reading an YA book at times and then a truly great paranormal romance book at other times. I wish she would had stuck with the latter more times in the book.
Bottom line, I don't know I'm on the fence with this book. I purchased it because it was on sale but I don't think I would us a credit to purchase this book.
PSI-Ops is a fast paced story about were shifters, witches, fae and other creatures that go bump in the night. This story centers around Duke, who is a centuries old werewolf that doesn't trust anyone except his team and Mercy Deluca, a uber genius who lacks social skills. Mercy is working for a company that is doing horrible testing on people, shifters and animals. She is desperate to get a message to a test subjects team members to help her free the trapped prisoners and unfortunately (or fortunately) she reaches Duke instead. The one team member that doesn't like anyone. He thinks she is nuts when Mercy first calls and doesn't realize until later that maybe she isn't as nuts as he first thought.
Duke is an alpha male to the core. He is strong, demanding, overbearing and once he realizes Mercy is his mate, he is very very protective of his woman. Mercy is a genius that doesn't know how to respond to Duke but she knows one thing for certain, she belongs to no man.
The interaction between the team members is hilarious. I like Stryker a lot. I can't wait until I read his book. The side characters make the book enjoyment and the main characters story is sweet and passionate. This books packs a lot of story into the small amount of time. The characters are well developed and the story is action packed with some hilarious moments and passionate smex scenes.
I have never heard the narrator's voice until this book and let me say yummy! I love the accent that he gave to Styker's character. Yes I would definitely look for him again.
Bottom line, yes you should listen to this book. At under eleven dollars, I would say just buy it and save the credit for something a bit more pricey. I'm hoping they put the rest of the series on audible.
The Desperate Housewives of Olympus is probably exactly as you would imagine a book with this title to be about. It is filled with back-stabbing friends, cheating spouses and drama that fills the streets of Ambrosia Lane. Author Saranna DeWylde, provides a hilarious outlook on what really happens on Mt. Olympus.
The story is about Hera, Abstinence, Nyx, Demeter, and Persephone. Hera is finally tired of Zeus’ philandering way and decides it is time to teach an old god a new trick. Since Hades has finally released Persephone from the curse, he is alone again. Hera decides to take this chance to “get her groove back” within none other but mister tall dark and gloomy. But something that turned out to be a plot for revenge because something more.
Abstinence is the new goddess on Ambrosia Lane and immediately, Zeus sets his eyes and wanderlust upon the goddess. But if he thought his sweet words and killer good looks would win him any favors with this goddess, he is sadly mistaken. Abstinence must abstain from over indulgence and that definitely means avoiding the King of the gods at all cost or risks the chance of dying.
Nyx is a titan, older than all of the gods on Olympus. She doesn’t have time for dating or emotional attachment until she becomes pregnant with Apollo's child. Now she must juggle being older than dirt and starting over again with a new baby and her growing emotions for her new “baby daddy”.
Persephone is crushed when Hades released her from the curse and brings her top side to live, once again, with her mother. She realizes too late her feelings for Hades and decides to stop at nothing to win his affection and love again. She using her very good friend Thanatos, god of death, to assist her in making Hades jealous, never realizing that Thanatos is also in love with her.
Demeter is Persephone’s mother and is fighting her own demons. She afraid to love until love itself, Eros the god of love, decides to open up his heart and reveal his true feelings for the goddess. Demeter is afraid to lay bear what she has harbored inside for eons because the truth of her secret will devastate Eros and she believes she will loss his love.
This book is a light hearted, comedy romance read that captured my attention from the first chapter when Hera got mad at Zeus for giving Abstinence her champagne grapes. I know then this book was going to be as if I was watching a soap opera and I loved every moment of it. If you are looking for intensive, detailed romance scenes, this is not the book for you. Yes, there are romance scenes but they are light and passionate but not very detailed in description. It was sometimes difficult distinguishing the voices within the book because the narrator’s male voice weren’t exactly different from the female voices. But I liked the book just the same.
Final question, should you buy this book. Sure, if you are in the middle for a light heart romance book that is quite funny, than this is the book for you.
Let me first start off by saying that this is a complication of four novellas of the Dark King Series. Almost like a prequel to the series itself. It does make references to the Dark Warriors Series but I don’t think you need to read that series in order to understand this one. This book tells the tales of three dragon kings and the women who captured their hearts. In the days of old (I love how that sounds) dragon ruled the sky. Than man came along and something was needed to communicate between dragon and man. So the most powerful of each dragon kind (color) was given the ability to shift between man and dragon to serve as a middle ground for both species. These individuals were known as the dragon kings. Sometimes a dragon king would take a mortal woman as his mate, forming an eternal bond that would make the woman immortal as long as her dragon was alive. This arrangement worked well until the dragons were betrayed by a dragon king’s mate. This cost countless of lives for both man and dragons alike. In order to protect themselves, the king of king casted a spell that would bind the dragon kings emotions so that they would never fell strong emotions towards a human female ever again. Ok let’s skip some countless years to present day Scotland and our story begins.
The three dragon kings in these novellas have lived since the beginning of time and are content to keep living their lives as they are until each one encounters their mates. Soon they begin to feel the emptiness that millennia of loneliness have created within them. They will stop at nothing for their mates to truly love the man and the dragon. Each woman is different and complex. Cassey is stuck between a rock and a hard place when she meets Hal but she knows there is something special about him. She is determined to prove to him and his king that she loves both the man and the dragon. Elena is driven and fierce. She has finally reached the point in her career that she has been trying to reach her entire life but that all goes to hell when she goes caving with her new boss and meets Guy. Jane is plain or at least that is what she has been told most of her life. Until she meets Banan, he opens her eyes to the beautiful woman that he sees before him. Even with an unknown dangerous villain that knows about the dragon kings and is threatening their way of life but that will not stop Banan from his woman.
I love Antony Feguson voice. It’s so rich and sinful. It’s the perfect voice for a series about dragon shifters because it sets you on fire (ok even I thought that was corny). But his voice is amazing. Love it.
Bottom line, yes buy the book. It’s worth every credit and I mean really, you get four short stories in one glorious book. Seriously, where is the downside?
For the life of me I can't figure out why this book received so many rave reviews. The only redeeming quality I found of this book was the narrator. J.D. Hart. He has an amazing voice. It's his voice that got me through this book.
The heroine is a weak minded character. First she meet the hero, I say that would lightly, and her first thought is he is going to rape her. He rips her stocking, ties her up and questions her about why she is in the house. After realizing it is a cause of mistaken identity he lets her go. But after being almost assaulted she doesn't call the authorities, no she feels and instant attraction to her would be attacker, first eye roll. He laters shows up and apologizes for his behavior and she agrees to have lunch with him, second eye roll. From there, they get together and have sex and she believes he is the love of her life, third eye roll. From that point, it's a lot more eye rolling and stupid mistakes that the heroine makes that have me constantly rolling my eyes through the book.
The hero, or whatever you call him. Is he an alpha male, somewhat. He does have loyalty to those he considers family and goes out of his way to protect them and keep them safe but he is so confusing. First he wants the heroine and then he breaks up with her. Then he realizes he can't live without her and then he realizes that his career will not allow him to keep her. Then... this goes on and on throughout the entire book. Enough already, make a freaking discussion. Besides the narrator the only other redeeming quality is that he had an HEA.
*This might be a spoiler but I”m going to mention it anyway. Don't get all excited about the kidnapping that was mention in the synopsis. It is literally four chapters out of the 43 chapters of the book.
Seriously, what is it about the tattoo, mysterious bad boy rocker that makes me (and thousands of other females) want to swoon because Dave, the lead guitarist for Stage Dive, does just that to the heroine and more. Eve awakes the morning after her 21st birthday with the mother of all headaches, a swoon-worthy man at her side and a rock the size of Mount Rushmore on her finger. That is seriously not in her plans. Eve is all about plans, details, organization and waking up to find herself married to the rock god himself totally derails all her plans. David, mmm David, is everything you want your rock n’ roll bad boy to be. He is sex on two legs, with tattoos covering the majority of his upper body. David remembers everything from that night and is disappointed and a little pissed that Eve doesn’t remember it but that won’t stop him from staking his claim on her all every again.
This story is full of passion, angst, losing one self in love and eventually finding the person you want to be. They both made bad choices and both paid the price for each mistake that was made. Doesn’t mean they aren’t willing to continue to fight for the HEA. Sacrifices are made, good intentions are misunderstood but that’s marriage and Eve and David struggle to find a balance between them.
I spent the entire night listening to this book only to go to sleep at 2 in the morning to be up at 5:30am to head to work. Was I tired at work? Yes Would I do anything different? HELL NO
“Enemy Mine” is the story of Emory and Mary. Although not as good as the first book, this book still checked all my PNR goodie boxes. Seriously, what is it with the shifters and leather? Emory is an Alpha wolf shifter. He is fierce, passionate and loyal to his mate and his pack. He stops at nothing and I do mean nothing to find his mate, claim her and keep her safe from her crazy relatives. Mary’s family are Sheppard’s; the crazy religious fanatics out to destroy shifters and vampires alike. But Mary is disgusted by her family and their cruel actions towards the paranormal world and wants nothing to do with them. She is currently running and hiding when Emory and the Sheppard finally catch up with her. Emory saves her and returns to New York with her, to keep her safe and protect her from her family with the help of his pack and Diskant Black.
Their love and passion is intense. Warning, smex scenes are detailed and graphic. They, once again, set my tablet on fire. I fee l like my id should have been checked before purchasing this book. Muy Caliente! Alpha male has a tendency to growl during sex, I love it! You have been warned.
My only issue with this book is there are a lot of side stories. I know the author is setting the scene for the side characters’ own story but at times it’s frustrating to figure out who point of view is the story being told from. I can’t wait to hear about Nathan’s story, though. I think the beta deserves his moment to shine. Maxine does an outstanding job with the book. She keeps me intrigued with her reading of the book and her different portrayals of the characters.
Yes I think you should buy this book. It’s a good read and very interesting story. Plus this book helps build up the events that are likely to take place in the next book “Vampire Mine”. That’s Trey and Sadie story.
Carter Reed told Emma that he would declare war for her, how do you resist a man like that. I know I couldn’t. I absolutely adored this book. I’m not usually the romance thriller type of reader but I’m so glad that I decided to step out of my genre and give this book a try. Emma makes a quick decision in the blink of an eye to save her roommate that was being raped by her boyfriend, kill him. Afterwards, there is only one person she knows who can now protect her and her roommate for the mob that will shortly come looking for her and his name is Carter Reed. Carter Reed has earned a reputation as the cold killer and it is truly well earned. He is lethal and ruthless. He will kill to keep safe the things he values and loves and Carter Reed has loved Emma her entire life.
I was captivated by this book from the first sentence. Seriously, after Emma kills the boyfriend I was literally glued to this audio. Carter is cold, ruthless and vicious but with Emma everything is different. Emma sees a side of him that no one has ever witnessed before and Emma realizes that he is both the cold killer and her passionate lover. Emma is strong and loyal. It is some moments in the book that Emma makes stupid decisions and you have to think, what in the hell are you thinking. But for the most part, it’s an unbelievable ride. SO GOOD.
Is this book worth a credit, umm you better believe it. Buy this book, sit back and enjoy a fun, sexy, unbelievable ride.
I’m all about a hot PNR book. I have read and listened to a lot of them. So for me to say this book rocked my PNR world is an understatement. I have never read anything by Aline Hunter before but I will be sure to keep her on my authors to watch out for list. Omega Mine delivers a new twist on an old theme. Usually the Omega is the weakling of the pack, but is this book Diskant Black, also known as Omega, is the most powerful shifter in the city. Not just wolf shifter either, Diskant can shift into any and all shifter races plus he wears leather and rides a bike, YUMMM. Ave Brisbane, known by Diskant as Pinky, is a human but there is nothing ordinary about her. She is a telepathic and just so happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Diskant meets Pinky and instantly the sexual attraction is scorching. Diskant will have to break down Pinky’s defense if he wants to claim his mate and maybe growl a couple of times too. This book contains a decent amount of action with religious fanatics trying to rid the world of anyone different than them, fallen vampires causes trouble and barely controlled shifters. Oh yeah, let’s throw some magic users into the mix to round everything off. The smex scenes are rocking hot, steamy and OMG downright scorching. WHEW!!!!
Should you purchase this book, yes please. It’s will captivate your interest from chapter one and never let you go. Half way through the book, I was already downloading the second book, Enemy Mine.
Now that I have read Grabbed by Vicious, I wish I could change my review for Saved by Venom because I absolutely loved both books. Vicious is a scrumptious Sky Warrior General that is participating in the grabbed to “grab” a mate. He thinks he knows exactly the type of female he would prefer to be his mate until he spots Hallie studying the map of the area with deep intensity. Vicious thought Hallie would be an easy grab because of her smaller statue but the little sprite gave him a run for his money. Hallie desperately tired to out run the sky warrior and make it to the safe zone. With the area in her sites, she knew she was going to make it. Until she felt big, rough, hands wrapped around and grab her. Now she is the mate of a terrifying sky warrior and wonders if all the rumors she had about them were true. But slowly Hallie understand that the rumors are not only false, but the pleasure Vicious excites within her sets her body ablaze.
Vicious is a jaw dropping, drool worthy alpha male. He commands any room he enters but is speechless when he is alone with Hallie. Their moments alone are full of passion, romance and unbridled smex. MMMM! Hallie allows him to command her actions in public but in the bedroom, she is the one that brings Vicious to his knees. This book has everything that is needed for a great romance. Some action, CHECK. Hot alpha male, CHECK. Strong-willed heroine, CHECK. Hot steamy romance scenes, CHECK and CHECK.
My opinion, purchase the book. It’s definitely worth the credit. I’m off to read Caught by Menace.
