Mirren Kincaid remembers the vampire he used to be - and he’s not going back. As the Slayer, Mirren served the Vampire Tribunal as its most creative and ruthless executioner. Then he refused a kill order and eventually found himself the protector and second-in-command of the peaceful enclave of Penton, Alabama. As civil war threatens to break out in the vampire world over the scarcity of untainted human blood, the Tribunal wants its slayer back - and has sent a beautiful witch to retrieve him.

Let me first start by saying that I loved this book. I read Redemption first and instantly was caught up in the rapture that is Penton. I enjoyed that fact that isn’t your typically vampire series. The twist of the storyline kept me listening, going back and re -listening to chapters in the book.

What can I say about Mirren? He is strong, mysterious, gorgeous and extremely passionate. Just the very thought of him, makes me wish I was in Penton, AL. Glory is an outspoken, take charge, compassionate woman. The romance that sparks between Mirren and Glory is quite electric.

My only problem with this book is the narrator. Angela did a fantastic job in the first book. I wish she was doing the reading in this book. Amy didn’t have the depth that Angela voice did. I hope for the third book, Angela is back as the narrator.

Kali Parks is a shadow in the war between two factions that are fighting to gain control of Chicago. Born and raised on the streets, she stands as a silent sentinel at her brother’s side as he battles to gain control. She will do whatever it takes to bring peace to those she has pledged her life to protect, including fighting against the creatures that came to their world almost six years before.

Another slam dunk for Ms. Smith. This book, just like the first, was excellent. In this book we meet Razor, who is Hunter’s older brother (refer to the first book). It is six years after the “Aliens” have made contact with Earth and except for a few major areas; most humans have come to accept that the aliens have come in peace and not to destroy. The city formerly known as Chicago is the last major city were the rebels haven’t really got with the plan of peace as the rest of the world. Thus Razor is sent in to either settle the rebellion or destroy any and all things in his way. And that was the plan, until he meets Kali, beautiful, stubborn, warrior Kali, who is chief of her brother’s security. Her brother is the leader of one of the faction of rebels in the city of Chicago. Razor knows instantly that this fierce, small warrior is his amate but Kali is very slow to let any man claim her especially Razor (even if his presence makes her body hum as it has never hummed before). But surely, Razor won’t give her up without a fight and Kali won’t go so quietly either.

I really loved this story. As with all the heroines I have read so far with Ms. Smith, she manages to give them just the right about of vulnerability without making them blabbering females and give them the right amount of independent without being condescending. Kali compliments Razor and vice versa. We are also able to catch up with characters from the first book, Hunter’s Claim, and discover how their lives have progressed since the last book. I’m eagerly anticipating Dagger’s Hope. I think I might have to read it before it comes to audible because I’m seriously sitting on pins and needles. UGH!!!!!!

David Brenin voice is simply Yummy!!!!! He melts my headphones and curl my toes. This guy is hot Hot HOT!!!!!

IMO, Buy the book. You don’t really need to read the first book to understand this book but it does help to better understand the world and fascinating characters that Ms. Smith has created.

Bass the final book in the Stage Dive series was exactly what I thought it would be. It was as laid back as the bass player himself, Ben Nicholason. Kylie Scott does an excellent job of writing a story with such humor and feeling that you laugh and cry throughout the entire book. As with other reviewers, I was hoping to get more insight into the background story of Martha (Ben’s crazy sister) and Ben but I wasn't too disappoint that it didn't happen. The series ended like it started, sweet, steamy and rocking.

Short and sweet. I love this book. I love Mandy M. Roth. I think I have read or listen to all her stories. The story is brief but the story offers a beautiful world co existing along side humans where magick is real and the bad things that go bump in the night are as well. The druids in this series immortal life mission is to be a beckon of good for both humans (we don't know they exist) as well as other magically folks. Along the way, they find spit fire women that are exactly what they didn't know they wanted.

I love Mason Lloyd's voice and performance. His Celtic accent is just down right delicious. YUMM!!!

Buy the book. It's just under 2 hours and worth the listen.

Twice a month, Wendy comes to work dressed in a costume from the show that she wears to charity events. I have read or listen to a great amount of books in the Fantasy/PNR genre, so I was excited when I read the synopsis of this book. It intrigued me, that idea of a superhero (or Guardian as they are called in the book) having a corporation where he charges for his services. It makes sense, when you are rob, the cops don’t volunteer their services they get paid for their time. But that’s beside the point, of this review. Anyways, so Draco is a guardian and Wendy is her handler. Basically Wendy is his glorified personal assistant. She keeps track of his daily clients, investigates all his clients and their problem before he sits down to meet with them, makes sure he gets enough rest and sees a medic if injured and so on. But Draco’s nemesis soon learns that his greatest weakness is the people closest to him. That puts Wendy in danger and under the protection of her own guardian.

The narrator voice is terrible for this book. His regular voice is just fine but when he tries to do different voices for the characters he fails miserably. I wanted the voice for the hero to masculine, deep, rich and delicious. Instead the narrator’s voice had the texture of an old man speaking and sometimes just downright comical. I don’t want to visualize my grandfather speaking when I think of the hero. I want Chris Hemsworth not Adam West. He made all the male characters sound wrong, so wrong.

IMO, if you can read the book, I would probably do that. It's a great story just not worth the listen.

I have read every book in this series and I have enjoyed each one. This series is a perfect example of short and sweet with just enough steam to leave you panting. Both Asher and Ella are dealing with insecurities. Ella’s insecurities come from a betrayal by her sister and Asher insecurities have made him question his worth as a mate. But when these characters meet, chemistry and instant attraction throws all insecurities out of the window for one night. At least, that’s what Ella thought until she realizes her hot one night stand, now works at her new place of employment.

The character building is this book is fine. Since it is a short story, I wasn't expecting too much but I was pleased with the development of the characters considering the length of the book. Since I have read the two previously books in this series, I’m already familiar with the world that this book takes place in. This book can be read as a standalone but it would be so much better when read with the complete series.

I adore Jeffery Kafer voice. The man is like silk chocolate, smooth, rich and ohh so sweet.

IMO, just buy the book. You can’t bet this for a quick, enjoyable read.

Gideon calls me his angel, but he's the miracle in my life. My gorgeous, wounded warrior, so determined to slay my demons while refusing to face his own. The vows we'd exchanged should have bound us tighter than blood and flesh. Instead they opened old wounds, exposed pain and insecurities, and lured bitter enemies out of the shadows. I felt him slipping from my grasp, my greatest fears becoming my reality, my love tested in ways I wasn't sure I was strong enough to bear.

I started reading The Crossfire Series and like most I was instantly caught up in the world of Gideon an Ava. I waited patiently for each book to be published so that I can stay up all night (always well worth it), to finish the book and enjoy their world. But now after four books, I’m almost at my end. Please don’t misunderstand, I loved this book. The heartache, the triumphs, the ups and downs, the raw grit and the love, painful in all its glory but now I just want my HEA. I think after everything that has happen, these two people deserve it more than anyone. As with Entwined in You, the story hasn’t progressed much since the last book and only spans a couple of weeks. Since this is the case, a lot of the healing process that needs to take place for Gideon hasn’t been achieved and I understand that but can we push this along just a little bit more. I love the fact that part of the book is told from Gideon’s POV. The reader finally gets a chance to understand his character. But the end of the book left so many lose ends, at this point, I will read the fifth book (hopefully it will be soon, hint hint Ms. Day) because I have invested soo much time, heartache and sleepless nights into this series I cannot do anything else. But Ms. Day, please deliver my HEA. PLEASE!!!

I like the dual narration of the story, allowing a male narrator to do the part of Gideon from his POV. But Jill does such a fantastic job; I really didn’t think that was necessary.

IMO, save the credit and buy the book. It’s under $10 and it’s well worth the read. But be warned, this book doesn’t contain an HEA and will leave with things being unsettled.

I was soo excited when I realized this book was coming to audible. I read Seven Years when it first was published and instantly feel in love with the story. Dannika writes a captivating story full of suspense, sexual tension, action and romance. Lexi Knight is a 27 year old adult that has been working the same job, in a candy story, for the last seven years. She also has been living in the same town since she can remember. Seven years ago, her world was changed forever when her older brother, Wes, was killed in a car accident and her father decided to leave her mother, her newborn sister and Lexi without a look back. In the midst of this crisis, Wes' best friend Austin, who has been like a big brother to Lexi, suddenly leaves after Wes's funeral without so much as a good bye to his adopted family. Seven years later, Lexi is struggling with her love life, trying to help her mom with Maisie and trying to figure out what she wants in her life when Austin walks back into the picture, with that damn lean, and turns Lexi world right side up. Buried secrets from the past finally come to light and Lexi begins to understand who she is, exactly where her life is meant to go and who she is ultimately meant to be with.

Nicole does an excellent job of telling the story with as much passion and intrigue as Dannika put into the story. To saw the next book, Six Months, is already an automatically download for me is an understatement. I hope it comes to audible soon.

IMO, buy buy buy. I know you will enjoy this book.

In Hunter’s claim, we meet Jesse. She is the eldest of three girls, living on the streets of Seattle, Washington after the Earth is conquered by a race of aliens. She is desperately trying to protect her younger sisters from the evils of mankind as well as the warrior aliens that have claimed to have conquered Earth with the intentions of peace. She is making her way back to her hideout with food for her sisters, when she overhears a group of humans about to torture one of the warrior aliens. Unable to just let him die in such a gruesome manner, she risks everything to free him. Jesse wasn’t ready to feel the instant attraction to the strong alpha warrior with the glowing yellow eyes. Nor was she ready for the life changing consequences saving him would have on her and her sisters’ lives. Hunter is amazed that this tiny human female is risking her life in order to save his. In return he does something he never thought he would do; he offers her and her sister his protection by making Jesse his wife. But what Hunter wasn’t expected was a fiesta, stubborn woman with a strong personality and a backbone of steel.

This book was a shocker for me. I wasn’t expected too much from it but I was pleasantly surprised after listening to it. This is my first time listening to a book by S.E. Smith and I have to say I would be looking for more of her work. S.E. Smith does a fanastatic job of building a world and providing detail for her story and characters to grow. S.E. Smith was able to make the heroine strong but still with just the right amount of vulnerability and the hero was a growling alpha male that wasn’t afraid to let his guards down. This book also contains a decent amount of action scenes that made the book interesting from start to finish. From the first page until the end, I was entirely enthralled with this book.

Big Bonus, the narrator, David Brenin, so YUM!! He knows how to tell a story and not just read a book. I eagerly anticipate the next installment of this series.

IMO (in my opinion), pick up the book and give it a try. It is definitely worth the listen.

I have read or listen to every book that Tina Folsom has written. Several of them more than once. Although I liked this book and was happy for Cain to get his HEA, knowing all that he had to struggle with to achieve that HEA, this book was kinda meh for me.

Cain is a member of Scanguard that joined the series during Zane’s Redemption Book 5(read it so good). He is a vampire that only knows his name. He doesn’t remember anything of his old life. The Scanguard family happily takes him into their family and make him one of them. Lately Cain is having dreams of a sexy, curvy vampire that he feels drawn too. When he meets a vampire that claims to have information about his identity and the woman Cain is dreaming about, Cain decides to follow this stranger, with some loyal Scanguards member, from the life he knows in San Francisco to the bayous of New Orleans. There he meets Faye and realizes that everything that stranger was telling him is true and decides that it is time to reclaim his life, his throne and the love he has forgotten.

The storyline was filled with action from the beginning of the story until the very end. Seriously, that last two chapters I was almost out of my seat with all the adrenaline that I was feeling. Tina, as always, does a fantastic job of providing a details that draw readers into the story and leave you saying, “I will finish after one more chapter”. The smex scenes are red hot and a great bang (every pun intended). Although this book is in a series, it can be read as a standalone but then you miss the excitement of getting to know all the Scanguard members and their stories. The book is narrated by Eric Dove and OMG, I love his deep baritone voice. Drool worthy!!!

So IMO (in my opinion), I’m kinda on a fence. I loved some aspects of the book and I thought some were meh!! I would say read it because it’s the Scanguard series, how could you not. But then again meh.

I try to not be bias when writing a book review and keep my personal feelings out of it. In saying that, this book is very good. The love and trust that goes into building the dom/sub relationship is intensive and on some level beautiful. Maya does a wonderful job of providing another set of diverse characters and a well written story that you can’t help but to get emotional involved.

In this story we are getting to know the baby Colter, Callie. She doesn’t desire the type of relationship both her parents and brothers have but what Callie does what is someone to take control of their relationship. She doesn’t just want someone, she wants Max Wilder. Max is an alpha male in every sense of the word. He is strong, dominating and unyielding. He knows what he wants, Callie, and sets his mind on her complete submission and the total possession of her body.

This book is very emotional charged and intensive. If you don’t understand the dom/sub relationship, like me, that’s ok. Although some scenes are hard to understand, the underline of this book is love and that’s a concept any true romance fan can understand. Plus the romance scenes are scorching hot and lit my skin ablaze and Freddie voices is sinlicious.

My two cents, read it. It’s a Colter book, really was that even a question.
