I know its short but I listened in one sitting and then listened again. The story just keeps progressing. He keeps finding himself in more and more aggressive situations. It's not hurtful. It's really...intriguing... for lack of a better word. And he can't stop.

She told me Heaven would knock on my door one day. That I would be swept away from the hell I lived in. She was right about one thing and so wrong about the other. Heaven came in the form of an angel just like she said. And then. My life became hell. She disappeared. Vanished. I left. Went to war. Killed. All for her. Every face was the man who took her. Every dream filled with her. For 12 years, I existed in hell. Breathed in the fires from down below. Until her, the woman on the beach outside of my home.

    Story

Kathy Coopmans has a really unique writing style. The entire story seems to come from with in the characters and each chapter comes from one character in particular - their thoughts and feelings. This romance is very bold - the story almost death-defying. But very very contemporary. This is not your typical soft romance and that's what I enjoyed about it. Some scenes are adult in nature. I look forward to more of Kathy Coopmans work. Solid and meaningful narration.

Recurring nightmares haunted D'laine Jackson when she woke from an eight-month coma following a tragic accident. Four images were branded in her head: a dark-haired, handsome princely young man, a fierce reptilian monster, a white furry creature whose red eyes implored her with some unspoken message, and an ominous black robot. Now, five years later, D'laine was getting ready to go off to college. During one last shopping trip with her father and brothers for dorm supplies, a blanket of fog rolled out of the sky at the mall, in broad daylight in plain sight of dozens of witnesses. When the fog pulled back D'laine was gone. When she woke, her nightmare turned into reality.

I really look forward to where this series is going. D'laine Jackson finds her self catapulted into a new land - one that she remember from her nightmares that are also haunted by her dead mother. We discover this new world with her as she discovers her rightful place in it. I loved all the new creatures, the way the place looks the way things work. I thought the author did a great job in giving us something new. We jump back and forth back to earth where they are looking for D'laine. The guys that are a part of the science team are funny and also very smart. I loved the way the author threaded between these two worlds. There's war, romance, philosophy and suspense. Great work!

Marly's been doing the best with what life's dealt her. Losing her husband a decade ago and raising two kids on her own made her self-reliant and unapologetic. When she's pushed to the limit after losing her job, what's a girl to do? Audition for a spot on a DIY show, naturally.

    Story

What a fun, light, refreshing series this is! You do not need to listen to DIY Book 1 to enjoy Book 2, even though they are linked. Jack is producing Daniel's DIY show in Savannah. He needs this job. Marly, a single mom and ex-beauty queen, is cast as Daniel's sidekick on the show. Marly needs this job. They both have their own baggage, their own skeletons. Sparks fly as initially they butt heads, but the route they take to come together is really fun. I was pulling for them. The daughter is a smile and a great foil. A loved the inside look at the audition and casting. I liked the frequent traveling/change of location and the hidden mystery, the bit of suspense. The characters are specific and well defined. You care about them. The narration is solid. The story intrigues and kept me listening. I loved it.

In the last few months, Peyton has solved multiple cases for the FBI, while Marco has learned to navigate his role as police captain. Navigating their personal relationship has proven more challenging, however. Marco’s jealousy over Peyton’s newest friend, Mike, causes friction between them, but although he tries to curb it, he can’t deny a growing feeling that something isn’t right with this man.

This series has all the components and this fourth book does not disappoint. Peyton and the Ghost Squad travel to LA undercover to investigate a murder. It's great dark fun the way the team takes on their various roles in the entertainment world to catch the villain. This is a creepy, eerie crime. And the back and forth from the victim alive then switching to the team trying to find her killer is really spell binding and also sad. As you see this person who you think is a stereotype become a real human being before your eyes. I was really touched a couple of times during the book. The author is taking us into real human depths and darknesses. I believe these characters, I care about them, I feel for them and I want to know what is going to happen next to them.

When a famous author agrees to teach a writing course at the library, amateur sleuth Deena Sharpe eagerly signs up. But on the second day of class, the author's wife dies in a car crash, and the police suspect foul play. Is it a hoax to teach his students about plotting a murder mystery? Not likely. Deena dives into the investigation when a friend is accused of the crime. With her brother's help, she must clear their friend's name and stay out of trouble with the town's newest detective. As if that weren't enough, it's her husband's birthday and her pushy mother-in-law is coming to town. What's a Southern gal to do?

In her never ending search for who she wants to be now that she has retired from teaching she's writing a murder mystery when her famous novelist/teacher's wife turns up dead. Lots of family involvement here, including a wonderful turn from the Mother-In-Law. Good to see the return of the perfect neighbor. Real moments of caring with Deena's husband. And the humor just gets funnier and funnier. This is one crazy town!

Just shut up and get out of here. This book is great. I've never heard anything like it. The story is really simple and the comparisons are obvious but that's part of what makes it so great. Rendaz - Earth. Earth- Rendaz - maybe we should be doing things differently. I love all the animals - its all animals. It's long book. I usually listen to much shorter books but I loved the cover and it made me buy it. And I'm really glad. It made me happy.

Great book. These characters are so fleshed out, you know exactly who they are. The world they live in is fascinating and fun to imagine. The story covers years of life and experience for the brothers and the people in their lives. Hilarious interactions, outrageous events, unthinkable drama, stunning tragedy. You meet their whole family and feel like you know them. This is easily a stand alone title - you do not need to know the series. If you enjoy being thoroughly engrossed in the world, life and times of a book this is a good one for you. The end is something. I must admit by the time I got to it I didn't realize how completely invested I had become in these people. This is a smart book, it makes you think about what you believe.

This is the kind of story that makes you want to listen to the whole thing at once. When Zoe's niece is kidnapped, Zoe and her sister work together to find the answers to a snake army that is terrorizing women and children through their connection to their church. We get the right amount of Zoe's personal life mixed in with the crimes, the right amount of fantasy with her wiccan background AND the little something special she got in Book One. Looking forward to more.
