Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton's premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it's on Stephanie to track down the con man. Unfortunately, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape...or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive.

Jane Whitefield is a Native American guide who leads solitary outcasts through hostile territory to escape the vengeance of their enemies. But the shaded forest paths her Seneca ancestors might have followed on such missions have all been converted to superhighways, and now the safest way stations are crowded urban buildings that offer the camouflage of anonymity. Still, the supply of runaways - and the need for a woman who will take great risks to save them - have never been greater.

Would you listen to Vanishing Act again? Why?

No, I don't usually relisten to books

Who was your favorite character and why?

The main character is a strong women

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration was good. I think the book would have been better with a man and women tandem narrating and the editing, towards the end, had repetitive issues.

Would you consider the audio edition of Wicked Business to be better than the print version?

Probably. I went to a book signing with Janet and picked up the book and I'm looking forward to reading it soon.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wicked Business?

    In the sewer.

What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Lorelei is AWESOME and the main reason I continue to get this on audio. She can truly change the character so you almost think you're watching a movie version.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I probably wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. It took 4 1/2 hrs before I could get into the story and it wasn't until half way through the second set that I really got engaged.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I probably would have started with Nell's relationship then fast forward to the beginning of the book and move forward from there.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    no

Would you try another book from J. A. Konrath and/or Susie Breck and Dick Hill ?

I've already downloaded a few more books but based on their reviews I'm not so sure.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Whiskey Sour?

The first "attack" was overly graphic and the others toned down. I'll give a couple of more books a chance but if abuse towards women bothers you, don't read these.

    Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the characters and how Jack interacts with them.

Mma "Precious" Ramotswe sets up a detective agency in Botswana on the edge of the Kalahari Desert, making her the only female detective in the country. At first, cases are hard to come by. But eventually, troubled people come to Precious with a variety of concerns. Potentially philandering husbands, seemingly schizophrenic doctors, and a missing boy who may have been killed by witch doctors all compel Precious to roam about in her tiny van, searching for clues.

What did you love best about The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency?

I enjoyed the stories within the story. It was interesting to learn about some of the African culture.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency?

    The ending.

What does Lisette Lecat bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her accent and passion for the culture comes through in her voice

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I don't think this would make a good movie.

    Any additional comments?

I listen to books in my car and found the one voice and lack of too much fluctuation between characters difficult to follow, at first. She had me engaged after the second chapter and I found listening and driving doable. This would be a great book to just sit and listen. I'm not sure if I'll continue the series but after the ending, I'm tempted to see how it continues.
