"Sookie Stackhouse with a parasol"
This book could be Sookie Stackhouse (True Blood series) went thru a time warp and stepped out in the 19th century, and her southern accent was replaced with an upper crust english accent. Haven't decided if I want to continue the series, just as in TB this book has sex scene that just really are not necessary to the story.
"Shell Game"
Jim Dale Yes
Erin M No
The creation of the performers of the nite circus, Didn't care for the love story
Yes, fantastic as usual
Nothing I would watch
I could see this book appealing to romantic readers, which I guess makes me not one
"Okay waiting for liftoff"
I'm on to book four, yep, I'm invested into this series, book 3 is defenetly worth listening to book 2. The first two books are just a launching point for the series. I don't think the series really sets its own tone until book three, which I enjoyed.
"Dues to pay to get to Book 3 & 4"
I have looked at this series for a year, because I like the narrators, and Brandon Sanderson. This must have been the first book Kate & Micheal narrated, it is not as polished as the current reads they have done. The story is slow, and parallels LOR to a point of prediction for the story line. The only redeeming part of books 1 and 2, is they are prelude to books 3 and 4, which are very good. So if you have the patience to set the foundation of this series, and give the narrators time to flesh out the characters. Downloaded it.
"New Classic"
Wow, what a great story, this has shot up to one of my favorites, Mistborn series was good, but this one is a classic. The writting and crafting of this novel is incredible. I listened to it once and am on my second time and it is just as good the second time. The naration could not be better, Micheal Kramer, and Kate Reading really add to the journey that this book will take you on. The whole sprin concept I just loved...If you liked Mistborn, this book will not disapoint you. Just hope the rest of the series is as great
"What???HuH??"
This was such a disapointment. I am a big Neil Gaiman fan, but this book was so difficult to follow. Sometimes I think some books do not translate well to Audio, and for me this book is a prime example.
"Very Pleasant Divine Suprise"
I debated getting this book for at least a month, due to the negative reviews, and the low star rating. But I was intrigued by the premise for the book. I AM SO GLAD THAT I DOWNLOADED IT. I loved this book, the plot, the characters. I hope the sequel comes soon. This would be a great series to replace the endless Vampire based books. A Saga of Angels on earth, count me in. I have to apologize to the narator, I ripped her for the naration of The Eight by Kathrine Nevile....She completly redeems herself with this naration.
"A First"
This is the first time in 2 yrs as a Audible listener that I did not finish a story, I didn't finish part one 4 hours of " maybe it will get better". The book is probably not all that bad, I wouldn't know I could not stand to listen to it any longer. The naration is done as if the narator is being punished to read it. It is forced, has no flow. The book was just frustrating argh #$@^%$. I just finished the " The Help" which is a very hard act to follow. Probably should have waited a week or two before getting another book.
"Very Very Special Book"
I am a fantasy fanatic, and just finished the "Mistborn" trilogy, which was fantastic. I did not want to get another fantasy, because it was so good. I happened on this book and got it because of the reviews, four or five star reviews every day since it's release, and I am very glad I did. This book will move you to laughter and to tears. The characters and the story are crafted superably. I was concerned that the multiple narators would be confusing, far from it. Best naration I've experienced.
"New Favorite Book and Author"
Listened to the first, with a credit, 2nd book, I bought, and I just bought and downloaded the third book in the series. I have not been this transported by a author since the RINGs or DUNE. Amazing story....
