I had this sitting in my Wish List for a long while. The cover looked "cheesy" to me, but the story and ratings interested me. One day I just downloaded it. It turned out to be a really good story. If you can get passed the first few chapters, the story really takes off from there. I was surprised and very glad I stuck with it.

When linguist Andrew Dennison is yanked from his bed by the Secret Service and taken to a top secret facility in the desert, he has no idea he’s been brought there to translate the words of an ancient demon. He joins pretty but cold veterinarian Sun Jones, eccentric molecular biologist Dr. Frank Belgium, and a hodge-podge of religious, military, and science personnel to try and figure out if the creature is, indeed, Satan. But things quickly go bad, and very soon Andy isn’t just fighting for his life, but the lives of everyone on earth.

I never read from this Author before, but because of reviews of this book, I made the purchase. I don't know what a "techno-thriller" is, and I'm really not into science fiction at all, but this was not that. It was really a good "thriller", which is what I was hoping for. I thought the narration was really good, and the story was easy to follow and a good amount of characters to be able to keep track of. I would recommend this one, and will look more into this Author for other books.

Imagine that your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret - something with the potential to destroy not just the life you built together, but the lives of others as well. Imagine, then, that you stumble across that letter while your husband is still very much alive....

At first I didn't think I'd connect with this book. But I would say after the first 5 chapters, I was hooked! I enjoyed getting to know all the characters, the families, and as the story unfolded, how they all connected in some way or another, to come to form the plot of this well told story. I so enjoyed it, and the many unforeseen twists that kept unraveling. I recommend this book, and I'll probably listen to it again at some point.

    Story

I didn't realize this story would be based strongly on a reality show. That made me happy as I'm into those type of shows. But the story line was so stupid, so un-real, and the story line geared toward religions that became so boring. This had to be one of the dumbest plots of a story ever written - my opinion of course. I can't believe I finished this, but when I pay for something, I'm usually determined to do so. This was silly - stupid and hard to keep going. There was almost no thrill factor. I'd pass with this one!

I really enjoyed this story, as it had many twists, and many I did not see coming. I really liked the characters, and it was suspenseful, and kept me hanging throughout the story. It was very believable, and the story laid out easily enough to understand and follow. I think the narration was excellent as well.

Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

I really enjoyed this story, and rarely put 5* for the story itself. Yet I believe this one is worth it in every way. There were no points in the story where it "dragged on", and this one was really hard to put away. I couldn't wait to get back to it.
Very interesting story, and how it twists along, and keeping you guessing. I enjoyed the characters, and how this story was smoothly laid out. I would highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this book, as it was full of suspense, and so many things tied others together. I enjoyed all the main characters. I would recommend this book. The only thing that really annoyed me was there were dozens of characters that would come into play and gone. Some came back into the story, but with really no substance. I was annoyed because there were way to many characters to keep track of - seriously. But as a whole, this was an excellent suspense, with many other on-going stories in it.

Some the story content was occasionally a bit un-believable, so that is why I gave it a 4. But as a whole, I'd recommend this book and enjoyed the author's imagination and creativity.
