"Entertaining plot-but the ending?"
I enjoyed this book, but was also troubled by the introduction of a character that didn't appear to be part of the plot, but rather a setup for the sequel (unless I missed something). Reminiscent of the old movie serials- get them excited waiting for the next installment.
"Can't wait"
After finishing a Preston/Childs novel, I always look forward to their next release. I wasn't disappointed with this one, except that I now have to wait once again for Pendergast to re- appear. Of course some of the plot may seem far-fetched; but if you seek reality in a book whose protagonist is a wealth scion cum F.B.I. agent/mystic with an in depth knowledge of just about everything, perhaps this series is not for you. If you want an enjoyable thriller, don't miss it! Also, although I am a big fan of Scott Brick, I agree that the narrator did an excellent job.
"A surprise"
I didn't think there was room for another book dealing with the "Rennes-Le-Chateau mystery", but thoroughly enjoyed this author's approach centering on the Templar's perspective. Of course, there will be some readers who will disagree because although this is a work of fiction, it may challenge some canonical beliefs. I have observed in other reviews that this can be the sole criteria for panning a book regardless of its other virtues. That said, although long, I enjoyed the listen. I also appreciated the authors notes differentiating historical, scriptual, and fictional source material.
"Great listen!!"
This is the first book that gave me "sore ears" because I couldn't stop listening! If you enjoy murder mystery genre, this ia s real winner!
"Good-Bye Tom!"
I agree with previous reviewers. After wasting a credit on Red Rabbit, I reluctantly decided to give this book a try since I was such a big Clancy fan. MISTAKE! I feel that abridging a Clancy novel is removing the essence of what makes his boks unique. If the unabridged versions can't be released, he would do himself a favor to forget about Audible offerings. The plot and character development were almost amateurish. I felt like I was listening to a high school term paper. And the ending! ( there was none) brought me back to the old movie serials. The difference is that I am definitely NOT waiting for the next episode.
