Apparantly this series is pretty popular, but I think it is for someone younger.
I haven't read the books, just listened to many hours of the first audiobook. I cannot imagine why anyone would put in so many "holy cows, holy s***, holy crap and that's hot". And the constant references to her inner goddess was annoying.
Although the lead female was suppose to be young and somewhat innocent, the whole valley girl persona was off putting.
I don't think that I would get to the part where I needed to edit it. It really isn't for me at all. I have hundreds of audiobooks and I think this is one of my least favorites. Will not be listening to anymore of it.
I have listened to many books, some with very erotic passages, so have no problems with graphic sexual content. I just really didn't like anything about this book.
By having the lead male not be so moronic that he would believe anything told to him by a gold digger. By having the female not be so idiotic that she would subject herself to this jerk. Just wanted to kick both of them.
Yes. I liked the first two books in the series and was looking forward to this book. Makes me wish I hadn't started the series in the first place.
She is a good narrator and I wouldn't mind listening to other work by her. This wasn't her best canvas.
For anyone who listened to first 2 stories, be ready to be annoyed. I felt sorry for Cameron when he was first introduced in the first book and hoped he found someone. Even though he did in this one, I just couldn't care.
There seem to be plenty of people who do like it, but I didn't care for this one.
Holly was so wishywashy, I just wanted to shake her. To allow anyone to treat her like that repeatedly and keep going back for more shows a complete lack of selfesteem. I had no real liking for either Holly or David.
The narration was fine. I couldn't get behind the story and just wanted it to end.
It wasn't longer.
The fact that I can listen to the story while working or walking.
Zoe. I think that although people might have seen her as flighty or spoiled, she really wasn't. Sometimes it just takes longer to find out who you are.
This was not my favorite narrator, but I didn't have a real problem with her.
When Zoe jumped from the cliff.
I've read or listened to all the books in this series and I enjoyed this one the best. The plot keeps up a good pace and the characters have some depth to them.
Yes, because I like happily ever afters.
I think it's Jesse. He had such a bad break but is not bitter and is so grateful for getting his love.
When Jesse and Flynn had their baby, Grace.
Not only was, but I did.
This is an enjoyable , uplifting book. It is nice to listen to books that are not extremely graphic and have a nice ending.
I probably would when the rest of the series comes out just to refresh it in my mind.
I enjoy the concept of the whole good vs. evil story line and a group of friends working together.
To me, the characters sounded much older than what I imagine they are. Also , she over dramatizes nearly everything. I had a difficult time trying to get past that to enjoy the story.
Read the book!
I've waited months for this book to come out since I listened to so many of Nora Roberts books. I've liked most of them enough to listen to repeatedly. I think the narration spoiled much of the story, so I may just get the book and read it to see if that helps.
Community of friends
Virgin River. It very much about friendships and hardships. Community comes together to help each other. It's very similar to the work of Robyn Carr and Emily March's Eternity Springs series.
Just the other books in this series. I like her work very much. Doesn't make me want to tune her out or wish for another narrator.
Some of both. I have a lot of empathy for what life can deal to people that must be overcome. Books can take a person away from some of their own problems for awhile and give you breathing room to deal with whatever you have to get through.
I think not. Couldn't stay interested enough to keep focused.
Very little inflection and not any difference in voices.
A different narrator would have helped. Just couldn't get into the book since there was nothing to keep my attention. I'll try the written version since I really like Lori Wilde's books.
Bad books are almost always because the narrator just wasn't right for the book. I think that's mostly the case here.
I enjoyed the interaction between all the characters. The story line is very interesting and kept me listening.
I think Nora Roberts Sanctuary. It has similar suspense and character dynamics that keep it interesting.
I would prefer not. There just wasn't any emotion. I couldn't tell the difference in many of the characters and there were many times that a sentence blended with the next one so it was hard to make sense of what was being said.
It may have been with someone else reading.
I have many Nora Roberts (as well as many other authors) and even if you have a strong story, if the narrator doesn't do a good job, it detracts considerably from the book.
I have many audiobooks and this rates mid way through all of them.
I enjoy the connection of a group of women and their friendship over time.
I would prefer not to. I have all the books in this series , so I've listened to more of her than I care for. I can usually blank out the narrator if necessary and just go with the story, but I found myself thinking "This is really awful". She's okay when just reading but lousy at the voices.
I have this series in ebook format but wanted to be able to listen to the series while doing other things. I did not like this narrator nor the one in the previous book. It certainly detracts from the listening experience.
I have many books by Sherryl Woods and just purchased another one. No problem with her work.
Lack of differences in voices. Not very good character voices.
Since I have the whole series, I know there are other books that tie in to this.
I really get sick of the whole theme of men cheating on "the love of their lives". I'm sorry, but if you really do love someone , you can't justify having so little respect for that person that it's alright to do that. Just to be completely fair, I also don't think too much of the female cheating on the male.
