Reginald Mason is wealthy, refined, and, by all accounts, a gentleman. However, he is not a gentleman by birth, a factor that pains him and his father, Bernard Mason, within the Regency society that upholds station over all else. That is, until an opportunity for social advancement arises, namely, Lady Annabelle Ashton.

I thought it was going to be a sugary, brainless story... the kind I listen to because they reduce stress. I did not expect the plot twist. I didn't see it coming... but you might since you're reading this. I enjoyed the story.

Is Number 67 Clarges Steet the unluckiest house in Mayfair? Every season the beau mondes of the Regency would hire a house in the heart of London’s fashionable West End at disproportionately high rent for often inferior accommodation and yet Number 67 Clarges Street, a town house complete with staff, remains vacant from year to year. Could it be that it is associated with ill luck and even death? Something must be done so that the servants of this house don’t lose their livelihood.

I read the reviews before I purchased this book and cannot understand how people rated it so highly. The plot is so trite; the reader is so slow. The heroine is OK, but an idiot who cheats at cards. I'm sorry I wasted my time and money.

Behind the seemingly innocuous façade of St Mary's, a different kind of historical research is taking place. They don't do 'time-travel' - they 'investigate major historical events in contemporary time'. Maintaining the appearance of harmless eccentrics is not always within their power - especially given their propensity for causing loud explosions when things get too quiet. Meet the disaster-magnets of St Mary's Institute of Historical Research as they ricochet around History.

When a tragic family accident brings Laura Fleming back home to Byerly, North Carolina, the sleuth discovers that her beloved grampaw's fatal fall from a ladder in the old mill was not an accident.

    Story

Granted, the book is 20 years old. There are very few mills left and I haven't seen anyone in a Klan march since the 1990's. It seems like the plot was designed as a computer program.... if we are at point A, how did we get here? and the heroine works backwards to determine who murdered her grandfather. But it bothers me that every path she picks is correct (except for actually picking the murderer because that would be too easy). It does, however, make it a very logical book. I was not happy with the quality of the reader's voice.... she made it a little too Southern. On the other hand, the plot actually had everyone in the her family as the list of suspects. Makes the family reunion a little more interesting!

But he is about to face his deadliest challenge yet. We commute together - he's over 20 and I'm a woman. It's hard to find books we both like.... without being embarrassed. There are a few gory parts, but the book/series is fast-paced and interesting to both of us. We think it would make a great movie.

What is a contract? How can you make one binding? How can you avoid being prematurely bound by one? What remedies are available if someone breaches your contract? These questions and the other important issues of legally enforceable promises are covered in these eight lectures. As you'll learn in these eight lectures, contractual agreements are one of the principal mechanisms for ordering life in society. Professor Cross lays a comprehensive foundation in the practical and intricate body of law that governs contracts.

I know nothing about the law so I thought I'd try to learn something. This is a great lecturer. I've listened to it twice. He's interesting and gives good examples. I enjoy his cases - the partnership that went to court because one partner didn't think the other was being fair in sharing the goods.... and they ended up hung because they were highwaymen. Vocabulary is important but he gives good definitions. I think I have a better understanding because of this book.

I told my co-workers I was reading a great book! This girl had lost her boyfriend, lost her job and was going to kill herself... but someone offers to buy her organs and gives her lots of money. Wow! What a great beginning. But by the middle of the book, I couldn't wait for it to end. Go ahead. Give them your organs. So sad. Could have been so good......

Now Maddie is smack in the middle of a murder investigation involving a deadly dance club and a coven of Hollywood "vampires".

So much fun to read! I laughed my way through the mysteries. I read all of them. How can you not enjoy a girl who uses her Macy's card to try to jimmy a lock (but the card breaks so the police know she was there)..... when she should have used her Neiman's card instead since it was already maxed out. (Poor girl! She found out her father used the same shade of lip gloss that she used!)
