  • The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Great Depression and the New Deal

In this timely new P.I . Guide, Murphy reveals the stark truth: free market failure didn't cause the Great Depression and the New Deal didn't cure it. Shattering myths and politically correct lies, he tells why World War II didn't help the economy or get us out of the Great Depression; why it took FDR to make the Depression "Great"; and why Herbert Hoover was more like Obama and less like Bush than the liberal media would have you believe.

The headline should be the real title of this book. While Hoover & FDR certainly both made mistakes during their presidency in regards to the great Depression, if you were to follow this author's policies, we would:
    1) Still should have child labor at work
    2) 80 hour work weeks
    3) No OSHA or workman's comp
    4) No Social Security programs
    5) No labor unions or collective bargaining
    6) No checks and balances on stock trading, banking, or business.

Only thing I agree with this author is tariffs are bad for countries in general.

In short, not an America I want to live in. Basically just a Libertarian world view.

In How Star Wars Conquered the Universe, veteran journalist Chris Taylor traces the series from the difficult birth of the original film through its sequels, the franchise’s death and rebirth, the prequels, and the preparations for a new trilogy. Taylor provides portraits of the friends, writers, artists, producers, and marketers who labored behind the scenes to turn Lucas’s idea into a legend.

Awesome audio book but download file has issues
Not sure but must be an a limitation with the Classic iPod and the file format as I don't see this issue on the PC. When downloading the file as one part it keeps going back to 11:20:43. Anytime prior to that is fine but stuck on Numbers. Will have to deal with 19 parts instead.

Other than that the reading is awesome and unlike the New Testament which oddly breaks into songs at inappropriate times this book works through the narrative appropriately.

Tatooine - a harsh desert world where farmers toil in the heat of two suns while trying to protect themselves and their loved ones from the marauding Tusken Raiders. A backwater planet on the edge of civilized space. And an unlikely place to find a Jedi Master in hiding, or an orphaned infant boy on whose tiny shoulders rests the future of a galaxy.

I have listened to literally dozens of audio books based on the Star Wars Universe and this has got to be the best one yet. Jonathan Davis should win an award for his amazing reading of this book and John Jackson Miller hit the perfect pitch with this book. Perfect companion to discover what happened to old crazy Ben after dropping off Luke with the Owens in Episode III. Nice references little references to the other elements of the expanded Star Wars universe in comics, books, and movies.

Entrenched in a conflict over slave labor, the industrialized North and slave-powered South of the mid-1800s became entangled in the only war to be waged between Americans on U.S. soil. The Civil War, infamously known as the bloodiest military conflict to date, engaged three million Americans, claiming the lives of over half a million.

Mixed with first hand accounts and an overall narration. Only compliant is that episode 3 seems to be missing. There are 8 episodes in total and each is roughly an hour long. However episode 3 is only 5 minutes long before starting on episode 4.

Millions of Americans, bored by dull textbooks, are in the dark about the most significant event in our history. Now New York Times bestselling author Kenneth C. First 5 hours of the book covers the history of slavery in America and how it caused the Civil War.
After that, it spent the next 10 hours covering the actual Civil War and was a well balanced, honest report on the Civil War.

Just finished this book and all I can saw is WOW.
The writing and the voice acting by Marc Thompson is superb.

Marc Thompson always brings an A+ effort, not only changing his voice to reflect the character that is talking but the known characters (Luke, Leia, Han, Lando, etc) and are always consistent & sound great for those none regular cast (Allana, Tenel Ka, Sith characters, Ves).

    Highly recommend this entire series.
