Marketing visionary Martin Lindstrom has been on the front lines of the branding wars for over twenty years. Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book helps a person to understand what parts of the brain and psyche are being influenced in particular marketing and sales situations and why. It also helps a person to understand that some natural brain processes are vulnerable to manipulation at times, and large marketing firms and corporate marketing departments have put a lot of time into learning and understanding how to best utilize this for the benefit of growing sales for the corporation.
As well, it can also help a person to become better at presenting and communicating their ideas to other individuals based upon some of the principles covered in the book.

Mattie Ross, a 14-year-old girl from Dardanelle, Arkansas, sets out to avenge her Daddy who was shot to death by a no-good outlaw. Mattie convinces one-eyed "Rooster" Cogburn, the meanest U.S. marshal in the land, to ride along with her. In True Grit, we have a true American classic, as young Mattie, as vital as she is innocent, outdickers and outmaneuvers the hard-bitten men of the trail in a legend that will last through the ages.

    "Very entertaining"
    Overall

This book kept my attention throughout. The narrator did an excellent job of reading and introducing just enough accent to make the characters take on defining characteristics unable to be conveyed in words.
    Definitely worth a listen.

I would have given it 3.5 stars but I dont think that is an option within the rating system.

    "Cheap novel"
    Overall

I kept waiting for the story to get out of the gutter. But it just stayed there and stayed there. Finally after realizing it was going to be the equivalent of a cheap dime store novel, I gave up on it. I didnt even listen the the second half of the book.
Additionally, the reader just really got in the way of the story as well. He almost seemed like a gangster who was trying not to be.

Reading this book will make you less sure of yourself - and thats a good thing. In The Invisible Gorilla, Christopher Chabris and Daniel Simons, creators of one of psychology's most famous experiments, use remarkable stories and counterintuitive scientific findings to demonstrate an important truth: Our minds dont work the way we think they do. We think we see ourselves and the world as they really are, but were actually missing a whole lot.

    "Not so much..."
    Overall

Unfortunately, I didn't think this book lived up to the expectations created in my mind when I read the other reviews.
The book seemed to drag on after it was about 80% complete.
There are other books such as "Sway," "Brainrules," and "How We Decide" that were much more informative as well as very interesting.
