"RobMck"
This is really funny. I was born about the same time as Alexei, and know what was going on at the time. So it really is an extraordinary story, full of humour. I highly recommend this book
"Great story and well read"
This is my first Laura Wilson novel, and it won't be my last. She writes a good gripping tale, which kept me listening. Sean Barrett's narration is superb. He really brings the book and the characters to life. If only all audio books were this good to listen to.
"Great idea badly executed"
The story idea is great, but the writing is appalling. It really feels as if the book was never through the hands of an editor. The writer has little style, and after a time the story telling becomes mundane. The reader does his best to bring it alive, but frankly there are better books out there, and i feel that this was a waste of my time and money.
"RobMck"
I was looking forward to this book as being a list of anecdotes and stories, but unfortunately I was left disappointed. It really didn't live up to the billing. The stories are ok, but there is nothing in there that really made me feel wow! Nathan is obviously really proud of his charity work - and rightly so. But there aren't enough cliff hanger stories in the book to get me really excited. True tales from war zones and other disasters they may be.. but not really enough to make want to recommend this as and action read.
"How to get hooked"
I read this book and became hooked on the writing of Michael Connelly. It may not be the first in the Harry Bosch series but it's a great introduction to the character, and the author. Needless to say I have read all Michael Connelly's works. Truly one of the great American crime authors.
