I found the story reaching and quickly lost interest. I just didn't care how the story ended.
No, mysteries and thrillers are still my favorite.
Disappointment, only disappointment.
I really wanted to like this book. I listened to over 10 hours and refused to torture myself any longer. So disappointed. I would have given it 0 stars if I could have. I'll get my credit back but I can't do anything about the time I wasted!
After reading 11-22-63, I became an instant fan. Since then, I've listened to books like the Stand and Doctor Sleep, which which made me like him more. Unfortunately, this book was a let down for me. Half of the book was about wet dreams and erections. The music at the end of every chapter was annoying. The first 3/4 of the book was slow and uninteresting. The last 4 or 5 hours was better, but not redeeming. The best thing about this book was listening to him narrate.
I loved this book as much as the first two. I finished all three in less than a week. My only disappointment is that I'll have to wait another year for the next one!
I had my doubts about this book, but kept seeing all the great reviews. I decided to give it a try. Before I finished the book, I was already downloading the next one. Sci-fi is not my first choice when looking for a new book, but I loved this book. I love the way Meyer twist the old fairy tale with futuristic ideas in this story.
I always feel morbid for liking true crime books, but they wouldn't be written if people like me didn't read them. The author did a great job relating the awful events of this crime.
This book want particularly bad, but it wasn't suspenseful. If. I love the book, I spend every available minute listening. I was in no rush to finish this one. Mediocre.
I keep forgetting to preview the book. Narrators can make or break a book. I was initially turned off by this narrator, but kept listening. At first, it's hard to keep up with the different characters and to understand how they are related. Actually, that's what makes it a good book; you don't see how it's all coming together ahead of time. I hate books that are too predictable. This book is a solid 4 stars.
I'm usually not a fan of sequels, but this one was great. I began listening to Scarlett within minutes of finishing Cinder. This one was as good as the first book in the series.
A great mystery from the past. I thought the book was an accurate account of the torture practices of a hangman. I loved the story and the narration. The only downside was the names of the characters. Some were so similar, that it was hard to keep up with.
I have always been a mystery/thriller reader and never considered reading horror. I finally took a chance on 11-22-63 (not horror) and was instantly a Stephen King fan. I decided to try Doctor Sleep and haven't looked back.
Salem's Lot was another great King work. It is a little dated, but still a very good read. I enjoy hearing King's thoughts and story background as much as the books themselves. I say this of every one of his books, but I could not quit listening.
