"A slow start with a strong finish"
I am a fan of Lawhead. Having said that, this book starts slow, almost glacially so. It then continues to drag for far too long. If one can, however, endure the ending is top notch. OK, it is a bit of a fairy tale ending, yet it is done with such skill and verve that one cannot help but look forward to more. Overall I liked it, but it wasn't Lawhead's best.
"A Surprisingly Weak Link"
Cherryh is an extraordinary author, truly one of the best I have ever read. While those words of praise are deserved, this was the weakest book of hers I have ever read. It was ok. It wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't great. One to buy if you are looking to see what happens later in the series.
"Flinx's Misadventures "
This is clearly a tale of missteps and story that is shockingly well written. While Flinx is, at best, an antihero, he comes across as surprisingly easy to identify with. A solid addition to the series.
"The World of Paks"
This is a great continuation of this world, however, it felt like the author tried to follow too many stories, thus leaving a book that felt far from finished. I assume these stories will be addressed later in the series, yet one is not certain because of dissolute story writing employed. I look forward to hearing more of them in the future.
"A Treecat Anthology"
This is a great Anthology with most stories either related to Treecats or, in some cases, directly about them. This nicely filled out some backstory and is a solid book for Honor Harrington fans.
"Death's more Dapper Side"
This is a great book to find out about death, hellhound husbandry, and the dangers of unfufilled sexual desire around Celtic death goddesses. It also helps that the planners are going digital soon. Enjoy!
"Old School SciFi"
This is old school SciFi)male fantasy. If you can accept that you'll love it. If you can't accept it you probably won't like it. Personally I suggest just leaning back and having fun with the ride.
"Drags a bit"
This one drags a bit, but in the end it was a pretty good tale...just a bit long winded.
"Consequences"
This book is filled with consequences from the previous actions of the Iron Druid. This takes what could have been just another entry into the series and really gives it a bit of hot sauce. Well done.
"Hard SciFi"
This is traditional hard SciFi. It isn't action packed, but it is filled with depth and introspection on us, how we work, and our place in the universe. Well worth the read.
"Excellent Tale"
This was superbly well written and had tons of good character development as well as story. It left me wanting for just a bit more, bit is that really such a bad thing?
