After 12 years of secret training, Atticus O’Sullivan is finally ready to bind his apprentice, Granuaile, to the earth and double the number of Druids in the world. But on the eve of the ritual, the world that thought he was dead abruptly discovers that he’s still alive, and they would much rather he return to the grave. Having no other choice, Atticus, his trusted Irish wolfhound, Oberon, and Granuaile travel to the base of Mount Olympus, where the Roman god Bacchus is anxious to take his sworn revenge - but he’ll have to get in line behind an ancient vampire, a band of dark elves, and an old god of mischief.

For those of you have have read the previous IDC-books, this is more of the same. And by that I mean, more of the same awesomeness. Oberon is very present in this book and that adds to the story in a very sausage and beef way.

For those who haven't read the previous IDC-books, aww... I wish I had five unread IDC books, I would feel like the richest man on earth. Buy and listen to:
Hounded, Hexed, Hammered and Tricked first and enjoy!

In keeping with his trademark style, Dan Brown, author of The Da Vinci Code and Inferno, interweaves codes, science, religion, history, art, and architecture in this new novel. Origin thrusts Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon into the dangerous intersection of humankind's two most enduring questions - and the earthshaking discovery that will answer them.

An interesting topic but even by Dan Browns standard extremly drawn out. At Times’ there are five different parallell happenings with some separated in time.

Glad it is over. This book should have been much shorter.

The events that followed changed her life forever. Twelve years later, the woman now known as Abigail Lowery lives alone on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks. A freelance programmer, she works at home designing sophisticated security systems.

This is one of my favourite NR book. Julia Whelan does an exceptional narration.

If you liked "The Collector" or "The Search" I think you will enjoy this one as well. Haven't read all of these? Do it! You are in for a treat.

Four friends, recent college graduates, travel to Kenya to work at a giant refugee camp for Somalis. Two men, two women, each with their own reasons for being there. But after twelve weeks, they’re ready for a break and pile into a Land Cruiser for an adventure. They get more than they bargained for. Bandits hijack them. They wake up in a hut, hooded, bound, no food or water. Hostages. As a personal favor, John Wells is asked to try to find them, but he does so reluctantly. East Africa isn’t his usual playing field.

This installment in the John Wells series was kind of weak. George Guidal does a fine job narrating as always, but the story didn't engage.

I hope the next book gets better.

You will never read Denny Younger's name in any history book, will never know what he's done. But even if you did, you'd never believe it. The world as you know it wouldn't be the same without him. Denny was born into one of the lowest rungs of society, but his bleak fortunes abruptly change when the mysterious Upjohn Institute recruits him to be a Rewinder, a verifier of personal histories. The job at first sounds like it involves researching old books and records, but Denny soon learns it's far from it.

Featuring A Prelude to War, an Iron Druid novella. After an old friend is murdered in retaliation for his mercenary strikes against the oldest vampires in the world, Atticus O'Sullivan must solicit the aid of another old friend in Ethiopia if he's going to have a chance of finishing a war he never wanted. Meanwhile Granuaile MacTiernan starts a private war of her own against Loki, the lord of lies, and if it brings Ragnarok early - so be it.

So, this review is only for the first novella, "A prelude to War" by Kevin Hearne. The others will surely be equally spiffy, but since I haven't read any of their previous works I'm a bit gun shy to try them on right away. Later I will use my google powers to find out if they contain spoilers etc.

Anyway A Prelude to War which I guess would make for book seven and a third of the IDC series is awesome and well worth the price of admission. Luke Daniels does a kick ass job as usual and there's lots of Oberon goodness in it.

To Kevin: Moar please. No more dilly-dallying with Starwars and such. :D

Ever since Martin Banks and his fellow computer geeks discovered that reality is just a computer program to be happily hacked, they've been jaunting back and forth through time, posing as medieval wizards and having the epic adventures that other nerds can only dream of having. But even in their wildest fantasies, they never expected to end up at the mercy of the former apprentice whom they sent to prison for gross misuse of magic and all-around evil behavior.

The Keys trilogy was my third to sixth Nora Roberts books. Previously I have read Carnal Innocense, The Collector and The Witness.

I really enjoyed these books. I connected the least with Zoe so I think it is natural that I prefered the first Two. As always there's romance, suspense and a dog or two!
