I love stories with a paranormal twist. This story definitely grabbed my attention. It had love, sex, and intrigue, but the ending fell a bit short for how interesting the story was. It was still an enjoyable read, so I do recommend it, but the story seemed to quickly end, tying up all loose ends within a few minutes. All and all, still a good, entertaining read. I will now go watch the movie to see which one is better. :)
What a fantastic book! I just couldn't stop listening! It kept my interest from the moment I heard the first words until the end! The narration was superb and the story was wonderful! I just ordered the sequel because I just can't get enough! Instead of a who-dun-it, it's more of a OMG, what happened and a where is "it"? To best describe this story without giving anything away, it's like Ghost Whisperer meets Dan Brown (The Da Vinci Code) intrigue, meets Nicolas Sparks (The Notebook) rated G to PG love story. What a great ending, wonderful characters, and story development!
At first you have to get used to a few concepts: 1. Having 2 good readers, 2. The dates, and 3. The characters' ages. After a few chapters, you stop focusing on the characters' ages and the actual dates; and more about the story, and the "time" the chapter was being told from. The story was very interesting. It definitely grabs your attention. The time traveling is a bit far-fetched, but instead of focusing on that and getting distracted, just accept it as fiction and get drawn into the story. It was entertaining, but the ending was a little lackluster. I wanted more. It felt like it just ended. **SPOILER ALERT** If a time traveler dies, does he actually go away? He's always time traveling so does that mean he lives forever? That's the part I couldn't really come to terms with.
I was looking for a great murder mystery and found a book on theology with a little murder mystery. So if you like theology, or like to read spiritually themed books, then this is for you. However, if you are looking for a great who-dun-it, this is NOT for you. There are no twists and turns and is VERY heavy on God; as well as thoughts that have to do with God, and how "he" works. Not for me, but may be for you...
Although this book was originally published in 1925, I thought that it would take me to a different time and place. It definitely did that, but I was looking for a deeper plot. It was very boring to me. Don't get me wrong, this book was well written and the narrator did a fantastic job, but the story line itself did nothing for me. This book received raved reviews, but I truly did not see what all the fuss was about. It was ok. Unfortunately, I will not listen to this one again...
From the moment I pressed play, I just couldn't stop listening! What a clever story! Very well written and so creative! I cannot wait for the movie; hope it's as good as the book! You won't be disappointed! It has everything! Love, lust, intrigue, action, heartbreaking, sweet and all under the "big top". I was a bit skeptical about having 2 narrators, but it was very well done. The transitions are seamless, painting such vivid pictures!
