  • The Name of the Wind (Part Two)

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 46 mins)
    • By Patrick Rothfuss
    • Narrated By Rupert Degas

Part Two of The Name of The Wind (Unabridged).'I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep. My name is Kvothe. You may have heard of me'.

    "What a dissapointment"
    Any additional comments?

    What a disappointment

The Story has absolutely no body and the direction is so drawn out and boring. Not a book that is worth recommending to a friend. The narrating by Rupert Degas is VERY good and I will find other books he has done.

  • American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 22 mins)
    • By Chris Kyle, Scott McEwan, Jim DeFelice
    • Narrated By John Pruden
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

    Allen T. says: "Amazing"
    "American Texan!"
Would you try another book from the authors and/or John Pruden?

Om my gosh NO not anything relating to Chris Kyle.
Narrated by John Pruden - Yes he made the book worth finishing.

Would you ever listen to anything by the authors again?

No No No! Chris is from Texas where everything is always bigger better faster. Pity I cannot give away spoilers and Prove this guy is a glory seeker in the best form. He did mention in the book about the gun imprinted on his sights - so true.

What didn’t you like about John Pruden’s performance?

John knew where the story had to go and he took it there with a very solid performance. I am going to find a good book he narrated to fully enjoy his work.

What character would you cut from American Sniper?

Chris Kyle. He is just not worth reading about. I read an article about the book and the glory he claimed, they advised against reading the book but stubborn me had to read it. Proven in the story it was all a numbers game.

    Any additional comments?

I was really disappointed and expected a true Hero not gloating. I have read less fiction in Red Country.

  • Theft of Swords: Riyria Revelations, Volume 1

    • UNABRIDGED (22 hrs and 37 mins)
    • By Michael J. Sullivan
    • Narrated By Tim Gerard Reynolds
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Acclaimed author Michael J. Sullivan created instant best sellers with his spellbinding Riyria Revelations series. This first volume introduces Royce Melborn and Hadrian Blackwater, two enterprising thieves who end up running for their lives when they’re framed for the death of the king. Trapped in a conspiracy bigger than they can imagine, their only hope is unraveling an ancient mystery - before it’s too late.

AudioAddict says: "And I didn't think I liked fantasies..."
"Very good - I am hooked"
    Any additional comments?

I am halve way through and enjoying the story immensely. I must just criticize Tim Gerard Reynolds his reading is on the bottom of the scale of all the books I have listened to. If not for the captivating story, I would have put it down based on his reading. Looking forward to the rest of the book and series. Great book Mr. M.J. Sullivan

Lisa says: "So much padding, you want to strip it off"
    "Can I have a refund?"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If I played it on mute.

Would you ever listen to anything by Nicole Daedone again?

Never, Will not spent time reading the reviews.

    Any additional comments?

The book is not worth the time spent listening to it. I firmly believe of always giving a book the benefit as some start slower than others and work in a certain direction. The amount of time I have heard "What you will get from this book" just irritated me and I can honestly not believe Nicole thinks she is helping anyone? If only I could ask for a refund!
