This book was simply fun to listen to. I found myself completely captivated by this fairly fast-paced thriller. I would highly recommend this book.
While I wasn't thrilled with Vector, I found it enjoyable overall. I like that Robin Cook generally avoids foul language which is nice when I listen to these books on trips with my family. Not great, but okay.
The book starts off slowly, then gradually picks up its pace. This is essentially an examination of the Israeli (Jewish)-Palestinian conflict that goes into an appropriate depth. The characters are well-developed and the author does an excellent job with appropriate accents and intonation. Parts are predictable, but not to distraction. It captivated my attention and helped me understand and appreciate the conflict to a greater degree. I would highly recommend this book.
I listened to this during a long 1800 mile road trip. I found myself not particularly captivated by this very average not believable book. The plot is as see-through as a wet cotton shirt. The last 2 hours of the book are pain-staking and frustrating. The final "clue" is fairly straight forward and simple enough that my 9th grade son figured it out as soon as he heard it. The frustrating part was listening to the final 2 hours of world experts in cryptography and mathematics frequently stating and restating the obvious and still struggle mightily to break "the code." When writing this book Dan Brown must have had no faith in the reader's IQ.
This is a very intelligently written mystery/legal drama novel. James Huston does a phenomenal job with character and story line development in this international legal thriller. Scott Sowers adds to the intrigue of this novel with his accents and variable intensity of his voice as he reads this captivating story. Simply one of the best audio books I've listened to.
