"Child Abuse?"
This is a story about sexually abused children and a group of men who abused them. It was not entertaining to me. Sorry, just not my type of story line.
"Not a bad chic flick"
The parts I would change would be to eliminate all of the email headers and footers. There is so much email exchange it would save many sheets of paper.
It also became tedious.
Yes, Battoe did a decent job of differentiating the characters. But she seemed timid in the beginning. More experience and maturity will help her immensely.
Yes, the book was worth the listen.
"Great Book"
Another great book from Clive Cussler. Here is an author who proves you can write an action book without profanity. Keep up the good work. I can't wait until the next book.
"Hard to turn off"
I love adventure reading, and the Alex Rider series fits in my listening library right next to Clive Cussler. I will end up listening to all of this series.
"The fantastic start of a new adventure series"
I love books that entertain. I love action and adventure. However, because of ADD, my attention span is quite short.
I didn't have that problem with this book. In fact, I had a hard time turning off the car.
This book was well written, not too long, wasn't fluffed up with a bunch of unnecessary vocabulary designed to promote the writer's intellect, and this was an excellent introduction to the Alex Rider series.
It's so hard to find a good adventure author. I can't wait to listen to them all.
"GREAT BOOK"
This is a great book, great narrating, great story - as usual.
It was a little shorter than normal but still a great book.
I'm looking forward to the next Stuart Woods.
"Good Series"
I intent to continue this really good series. The narrator did a really good job keeping interested in the story.
"Well written - perfect for a good road trip"
C. J. Box has started a good series with the Joe Pickett character. I'm interested to see where it goes.
Box is no Clive Cussler, but someday I hope he gets to that level.
The good thing about this book is it keeps your attention and the story is easy to follow. It's perfect for a good road trip.
"Great Book"
I love the Alex Hawke series. These are great books. I can't wait until the next one.
Ted Bell masterfully threads the needle between drama and intense action. This would make a really good movie.
"Not bad"
This was a bad listen, but it was rather tedious. Too bad they don't have an abridged version. This book is light on story and heavy on fluff.
Overall, it was fairly decent. The narrator was also pretty good.
"Chip Off The Old Block"
AS usual, Tony Roberts is a fantastic narrator. It just doesn't get any better. He uses different accents for each character, but he keeps up with them all throughout the book.
The story was well written. Stone Barrington must be Mr. Woods' favorite character because he writes about him with an exciting spirit. I wonder if his fingers (typing) have trouble keeping up with his inspirations?
I cannot give away the story line, but has some really heart-wrenching sad parts as well as joyous happy parts. I will tell you it looks like we have another Barrington character to look forward to.
