  • Steve Jobs

    • UNABRIDGED (25 hrs and 19 mins)
    • By Walter Isaacson
    • Narrated By Dylan Baker

Based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

Chris says: "Good Biography, Fine narrator"

Excellent insight into a man with an unwavering vision. He was absolutely correct, "A" players do in fact love to work with other "A" players and that they can be driven to great successes. He will be missed by those who strive to do and be better.

  • The Lessons of History

    • UNABRIDGED (5 hrs and 39 mins)
    • By Will, Ariel Durant
    • Narrated By Grover Gardner

The authors devoted five decades to the study of world history and philosophy, culminating in the masterful 11-volume Story of Civilization. In this compact summation of their work, Will and Ariel Durant share the vital and profound lessons of our collective past. Their perspective, gained after a lifetime of thinking and writing about the history of humankind, is an invaluable resource for us today.

Brad the Dad says: "This is a must for every Educated Person"
    "History continues to repeat itself"

Straight forward conclusions and enough citations from other historians to understand the truth of it. Its a hard line, but no reason to disbelieve how the circle completes itself. While they suggest that changes can be made, they make it clear that they believe it is unlikely. History people will like this. Its fairly easy to understand how mankind continues to repeat the past.

  • Sun Tzu at Gettysburg: Ancient Military Wisdom in the Modern World

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs)
    • By Bevin Alexander
    • Narrated By Edoardo Ballerini
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Imagine the impact on world history if Robert E. Lee had listened to General Longstreet at Gettysburg and withdrawn to higher ground instead of sending Pickett uphill against the entrenched Union line. Or if Napolon, at Waterloo, had avoided mistakes he'd never made before. The advice that would have changed the outcome of these crucial battles is found in a book on strategy written centuries before Christ was born.

    Anthony says: "Simply Excellent"
"Its a wonder the North won..."

Its a testament to numbers and resources. Otherwise we'd be using confederate dollars and all eating grits for breakfast... maybe even a better government, who knows.

  • America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 9 mins)
    • By Sarah Palin
    • Narrated By Sarah Palin

America by Heart is a highly personal testament to Sarah Palin's deep love of country, her strong roots in faith, and her profound appreciation of family. The book includes brief readings from classic and contemporary works that have moved and inspired her, as well as other Americans, both famous and obscure, whom she admires.

Jackie says: "Another excellent book by Sarah"
"Not so different as you might think"

Personally, I found it enlightening as to her position on life. She seems very centered about how things logically progress and what it might take to get there. My only weakness is that toward the end she demonstrates very religious views, and while I personally support her ability to believe and practice as she wishes in her personal life, the idea of pushing those views on others certainly seems possible. Its a fine line between those who would believe they are acting correctly and forcing that way onto others as experience has shown. Certainly worth reading or listening to if you really want to develop a factual opinion on who and what she is. She makes no bones about who she is and that is certainly different from the other political rank and file that would have you believe they stand in your field with you, no matter who "you" are.
