She could save the world - or destroy it. Sixteen-year-old Evangeline 'Evie' Greene leads a charmed life, until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future - and they're still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux. But she can't do either alone.

This is an amazing new YA series. I loved it and can't wait for the next one, which seems a million years away!! Great strong characters. Wonderful narrators (I love Emma Galvin!!). The story is new and interesting. I haven't read Kresley Cole before ... I think I'm going to have to look back at her other books!!

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive. Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them - not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her. His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble. But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can't entirely explain.

When I realised this was read by a man I was so put off. BUT, I persisted as all the reviews were so good. Well, I LOVED it. I'm not a massive fan of Maggie's, but boy The Raven Boys has certainly pulled me in. The writing is just superbly poetic (and I usually don't like fluffy reading). The narrator did a magnificent job. He really gave life to each of the characters. By the time I was half way through the book, each character was firmly pressed into my mind with detail. Obviously this is a beginning to yet a new series, but I am surely looking forward to the following books. I hope they're not too far away. Miss Maggie, I liked the Books of Faerie and the Shiver books (sorry, haven't read the Scorpio Races), but OMG this series seems like it's going to be your best yet. Please don't keep us waiting too long!!
