Carlin Reed lives in fear, off the grid, moving from place to place. So Battle Ridge, Wyoming, a small town in the middle of nowhere, seems like a good place to lie low for a while. But after becoming cook and housekeeper to cattle rancher Zeke Decker, Carlin suspects that she’s made her first mistake. Rugged, sexy, and too distracting for his own good, Zeke is pure temptation mixed with something deep and primal that makes Carlin feel almost safe. Soon things are getting way too hot in the kitchen.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Maggie Wheeler does a wonderful job at narrating this romantic suspense. I really felt for Carly and could feel here fear and understand her consuming need to run and stay off the grid. The strength of her character and the sizzle with Zeke set the romance portion on fire. This book had all the ingredients to keep you engaged!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Running Wild?

I was struck the most, when Carly shows Zeke the depth of her fear and the reality of her situation. The description of her terror was so vivid that I could see it, clear as day, and wanted to help her myself.

What does Maggie Wheeler bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Maggie has a way of using her accents and subtle changes in inflection to distinguish the voices and bring out there personalities. I love that in a narrator. It had power where it needed power, gentleness where it was needed and tenderness where it was important. Maggie spoke in a way that I could feel Carly's inner strength come through in her sarcastic voice and had me laughing like she was an old friend. I feel she was perfect to narrate this story!!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

When it is time to stop running and stand up and fight.....

    Any additional comments?

I have always loved Linda Howard. I have enjoyed watching how her style has changed and developed, but this newest story with Linda Jones has been my favorite. I got my romance with a good dose of sizzle and enough suspense to make it interesting. I love a good twist to keep me guessing how a resolution comes about and these two were great at throwing those in the mix. This format even included some recipes that I can't wait to try. I love it when an author provides that to allow me to interact.

If you could sum up Lover's Leap in three words, what would they be?

Finally, Sara's story! I loved to go through these stories and get to know the characters.
Sara is such a strong woman and I couldn't wait to see her happy. She has so much on her plate, yet did such a great job raising her daughter. It would have been really hard to do in a small town.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Devon. The little Australian charmer. He has such strength and personality. I hope to see his character develop in future books.

What about Kathe Mazur’s performance did you like?

Kathe Mazur has been a favorite of mine for many years. I have read some unkind reviews of her work, but I think she has a gentle way that brings a lot to the people she portrays.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to most of it while riding on the back of a motorcycle on a day trip with my husband. I was sorry when we arrived home and knew it would be a few days before I had a chance to finish the story. I tried to wait until our next ride, but couldn't wait.

    Any additional comments?

I love Emily March, but her books under the author name, Geralyn Dawson, are REALLY my favorite. I wish those titles were available here as well. Hopefully that will happen in the future!

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Robyn Carr is renowned for her Virgin River series. When Colin Riordan is caught in a devastating helicopter crash, Virgin River seems like the ideal place to recover - both physically and emotionally. But when PR guru Jillian Matlock, who rents a Victorian home down the street, finds Colin trespassing, an instant connection blossoms between them - which leads to more than either expects.

Would you listen to Wild Man Creek again? Why?

    Just a good story

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wild Man Creek?

I really connected to the main character when she was planting the garden. I cried right along with her

Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to several Therese Plummer narrations and I really like the emotion she brings to the stories. I feel the joy, sadness or whatever right along with her.

If you could sum up Make Mine a Bad Boy in three words, what would they be?

These characters were just a hoot! I loved the first book in this series and just kept smiling, but this was even funnier! The reader made it even better! I was really glad to see that it was the same reader from the first book and the voices were the same. She is great! I will get every Katie Lane book out there for sure!!!!

Which character – as performed by Nicole Poole – was your favorite?

Sherlene. She was caring, yet you never knew what she would do next. She really made me laugh.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There is one part in the book when you see Colt and Hope as teenagers and get a real feel for their relationship and how long it has been in the making. I won't give it away, but I did have tears.

    Any additional comments?

The town of Bramble is a mess. The people are crazy, but have enough love for each other, their town, the country and of course football to fill the heavens. I wish I could live there. They are just plain good people.
